“Brooklyn Height Jewish Academy (BHJA) is a ‘No Child Held Back’ school.  This means that their goal is not to get every student to a specific point by the end of the year, but to make sure that each student is able to achieve his/hers highest potential by the end of the year. All students are unique, learn differently, and learn in their own way and on their own timeline.  Therefore, they cater their teaching to accommodate students vs. expecting students to fit their teaching.”

BHJA is a Jewish orthodox day school.  They teach a dual curriculum of both Judaic and secular education based on NY state standards in a fluid, integrated curriculum which they have developed.  In addition they have extracurricular classes everyday (Ivrit; Tikkun Olam [community service]; PE; Chess; Home Economics).  They also offer after school clubs for students who want to participate (Karate; Bricks 4 Kidz; NY is My Backyard; Gymstars).

School hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 3.30 pm and Fridays 8.30 am to 1.30 or 2.30 pm (depending on time for Shabbat).

Cut off is the calendar year; the tuition for next school year is $21,000; applications are due by December 31st, 2016 but will remain open until all spaces are filled, although if the fill they classes by end of December, they will close admissions. More information here.
