Charter School open houses this fall

Families with children born in 2013 will be able to apply for Charter Schools this winter. New York City charter schools are required to admit students by lottery, with preference given to students who live in the district. They are free to parents. To check which District you live in, click here.

Compass Charter School in Fort Greene (elementary school for District 13 currently going up to 4th grade adding 5th Grade next school year) is hosting open houses from November 2017 to March 2018. Sign-up for your spot here, they are filling fast.

Brooklyn Prospect Charter School in Downtown Brooklyn is hosting two information sessions for prospective families. Actual tours are only offered after the lottery in April due to the high amount of applicants.  Information sessions will take place on Thursday, December 14, 2017, 6-7:30pm,  and Thursday, March 1, 2018, 6-7:30pm, in the school’s gym. Middle school information sessions for the Clinton Hill Campus, 300 Willoughby Avenue* (temporary co-location) for District 13 will take place on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, 6-7pm, Tuesday, January 9, 2018, 6-7pm, and Tuesday, March 6, 2018, 6-7pm. More information here, no need to RSVP.

Success Academy in Fort Greene and Cobble Hill have published open house dates. RSVP required.

International Charter School of New York in Downtown Brooklyn will host information sessions on Wednesdays at 5 pm. Dates here.
