Brooklyn mom Michelle Culhane runs the boutique au pair agency Essie LeBlanc Au Pairs which is dedicated to connecting New York families with warm, experienced, college educated au pairs from the Southern United States.
The girls are mostly southern sorority members, must have childcare experience, a 3.0 GPA, pass a drug and background test, and have impeccable references. It has been so fun getting to know all of the girls, watching them bond with families, and explore the city. Three of the girls are leaving this year. One is going to medical school, one to dental school, and another to a top tier law school. They are bright, go getters, and a pleasure to be around.
Yearlong and summer au pairs available starting in May.
Currently, she has a number of successfully matched families and au pairs. Her goal is to continue to help families and au pairs find the right match. After that match is made, she stays active in the process— lending support to families and hosting events to provide a community for the au pairs. No one wants a homesick au pair.
