Halloween guide 2016 (all events are free)

Halloween Haunted Walk & Fair @ Prospect Park 10/29: Deep in the Park lies Lookout Hill, the highest point in Prospect Park and home of the Prospect Park Alliance’s Annual Halloween Haunted Walk. Ghouls and goblins lurk behind the trees, ready to provide a silly scare! An adult should accompany young children. After some chills and thrills at the Haunted Walk, enjoy more Halloween fun at the fair. Rain or shine. Saturday, October 29th from 12 to 3 pm.

Scary Stories @ Prospect Park 10/29:  Make sure you’re sitting next to someone braver than you! Master storyteller Tammy Hall keeps the tradition of scary stories alive with tales told in the village of Flatbush 200 years ago. While you’re here make a spooky Halloween cut-out based on a Lefferts family design. 2–4 pm on Saturday 10/29 at Lefferts Historic House in Prospect Park. More information here.

Downtown Brooklyn Halloween Get Down @ Albee Square 10/29: The annual Halloween event at Albee Square kicks off with a performance for the kiddos by Mr. Marc the MC and DJ Mikey Palms at 10am, followed by a costume fashion show at 11am. Special appearance by the Long Island Nets, Balloonasaurus Rex, and Face Painting by Shelly. Saturday October 29th from 10 am to 12 pm at Albee Square.

Halloween Festival @ Fort Greene Park 10/29: The annual Halloween Festival will run from 12 to 3 p.m. and feature live music, an inflatable obstacle course, games with giveaways, face-painting, a pumpkin patch, and more! Come dressed in your Halloween best and march in our costume parade around the festival. Saturday, October 29, 2016 from  

Halloween Parade @ Thomas Greene Playground 10/29: Wear your Halloween costumes, pumpkin painting and costume contest in Thomas Greene Playground at 3rd Avenue and Degraw Street on Saturday 10/29 from 2 to 4 pm.

Pierrepont Playground Halloween Parade @ Brooklyn Heights 10/29: Annual Pierrepont Halloween Parade with bake sale on Saturday, October 29th at 10.30 am.

Harvest Festival / Brooklyn Bridge Park 10/29: Come celebrate the fall season at the annual Harvest Festival and explore new parkland with the opening of Pier 6! This year will be bigger than ever, with free, fun activities for the whole family. Enjoy pumpkin carving, arts and crafts, puppetry, games, and musical performances. Will take place on Saturday October 29th from 11 am to 2 pm.

Court Street Spectacular @ Atlantic Ave to Joralemon Street 10/30: Court Street Spectacular Street Fair between Atlantic Ave and Joralemon Street on October 30th from 11 am to 6 pm. Shopping, food and rides…

Halloween Fun Fest @ Putnam Triangle 10/30: Games, giveaways, music and a couple of spouky movies on Sunday 10/30 from 1 to 4 pm at Putnam Triangle Plaza on Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn.

Halloween Parade @ Mother Cabrini Playground 10/30: Put on your costumes, bring some noise makers, come celebrate Halloween a day early on Sunday 10/30 from 10 am to 12 pm at the Mother Cabrini Playground on President Street in Carroll Gardens.

Children’s Halloween Parade @ Carroll Park 10/30: Come in costume and parade around the neighborhood.  Post-parade snacks will be provided. The parade kicks off at noon in front of the Park House, so try to get there before then.  Sunday, October 30th from 12 to 2 pm at Carroll Park.

Garden Place Trick-or-Treating @ Brooklyn Heights 10/31: Toddlers start trick-or-treating around 4 pm on October 31st on Garden Place in Brooklyn Heights. The gathering runs all afternoon until dawn when everybody runs out of candy.

Cobble Hill Halloween Parade @ Cobble Hill Park 10/31: The crowd gathers on Monday, October 31st at 4 pm at the Clinton Street entrance to Cobble Hill Park and then winds its way through the park down Congress, onto Henry past the Cobble Hill Health Center and up Warren to Clinton Street.

DUMBOWEEN @ DUMBO 10/31:  Annual March to the Arch on Monday 10/31 followed by crafts, costume contests, live music and candy in the Archway!

4:30 pm: Annual March to the Arch meet at Brooklyn Roasting Company
Story of the Jack-O-Lantern, then parade through DUMBO’s streets en route to the Archway under the Manhattan Bridge, led by the Funkrust Brass Band and puppets from Great Small Works!

5 – 7 pm: Archway Kids party in the Archway Under The Manhattan Bridge
Brass + puppets performance the Funkrust Brass Band and Great Small Works. Hands-on arts & crafts with Creatively WILD Art Studio. Photobooth fun from Brooklyn Central. Prizes for the best costumes.

7 -10 pm: Pet Costume Soiree in the Archway Under The Manhattan Bridge
The Lighthouse presents an all ages, all species fete with music by DJ DuctTape, and beer, wine, bites ’till 10pm!

PLUS! Trick-or-Treating from 4-7pm DUMBO, Brooklyn – neighborhood wide! Grab your pumpkin bucket: the DUMBO BID sponsors storefront trick-or-treating for the little ones from 4-7pm. 40+ businesses will be giving out candy to costumed DUMBOnians. Full list to be published shortly; look for the pumpkin sign in the window of participating businesses.

BAMBoo Halloween Celebration @ BAM: BAM’s annual free community Halloween celebration features treats, carnival games, a bounce house, costume contest and more. Peter Jay Sharp Building at 30 Lafayette Avenue on October 31st from 4 to 7 pm.
