New documentary “The Forgotten Farragut” about the low-income community in the shadow of DUMBO

The short documentary video “The Forgotten Farragut” has been produced by Brooklyn Community Services and examines the impact of Brooklyn’s wealthy DUMBO neighborhood upon the adjoining low-income community of Farragut Houses. It spotlights the struggles of lower-income residents of Farragut Houses, a New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) development in the shadow of the increasingly wealthy neighborhood of DUMBO. Watch the documentary here.

“The Forgotten Farragut,” was created through the “Portraits of New York City: Small Grants Challenge” and sponsored by Human Services Council of New York in partnership with Measure of America with funding provided by The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust.
