Pier 5 uplands in Brooklyn Bridge Park open

Brooklyn Bridge Park has opened 3.4 acres of new parkland at the Pier 5 uplands bringing the Park’s construction to over 80% complete.  The Pier 5 uplands expands the Park’s green space east of the Picnic Peninsula, adding sloped and terraced lawns, a grove with a flexible seating area, and a sound attenuating berm to reduce traffic noise.

Additional amenities will be available to visitors when work is completed this fall. Set into the hillside will be a new boathouse that includes public restrooms and a new access point will be created at the Montague Street Turnaround.
