Plans to re-design Cadman Plaza and renovate War Memorial within Brooklyn Strand initiative

This new plan is part of the initiative “Brooklyn Strand” connecting Downtown Brooklyn with Brooklyn Bridge Park that would provide for 27,600 square feet of programmable space for the war memorial, and 4.7 acres of re-envisioned park space in Cadman Park.

The War Memorial closed 25 years ago because it was not ADA-compliant. The renovations would fix that problem, and bring in a visitor’s and exhibition center, a roof terrace and event space, a new elevator, and to restore the Wall of Honor.

No timeline for this project has been set yet, stay tuned.
