Applications for free universal Pre-K for children born in 2015 open 2/4

This year, the Pre-K application will open February 4th. Families with children born in 2015 can apply to programs at public zoned schools, public un-zoned schools, public Pre-K centers and Early Education Centers (private preschools and daycares that have been accredited within the UPK program) using a single Pre-K application.

You can apply to up to 12 programs online. The deadline to submit your Pre-K Application is Friday, March 15, 2019 and you will get your child’s pre-K offer letter in May 2019. You can review the Brooklyn Pre-K directory by the Department of Education here.

Pre-K classrooms host up to 18 students with 2 teachers. All programs are 6 hours and 2 minutes and follow the New York Department of Education school calendar. No Charter School in our neighborhood offers Pre-K. Here are a few schools in our neighborhood that offer free UPK:

We are hosting an info session for parents considering Pre-K and Kindergarten in public, private and Charter schools in our neighborhood on Tuesday 2/12/19.
