The Center for Fiction is now open seven days a week at 15 Lafayette Avenue next to Mark Morris Dance. The 18,000 square feet center features a book shop with a small kids book section, a kid-friendly cafe and a members only library area for reading and study. They will add lots of kids programming to the calendar beginning in late spring / early summer with most events occurring on the weekends. They will include afternoon writing workshops, storytimes, speaking events with authors, and reading groups.
McNally Jackson indie book store is opening a location at City Point Mall this fall. The City Point store will occupy two floors and roughly 5,300 square feet.
