DNA Learning Center opening at City Tech campus in Downtown Brooklyn

The Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory DNA Learning Center DNALC NYC is opening a new 17,500 square foot facility in Downtown Brooklyn. A collaboration with the City University of New York (CUNY), DNALC NYC is located on the City Tech campus, on the corner of Tillary and Adams Streets. With six teaching labs, two computer classrooms, and interactive exhibits, it will offer in-person field trips, student research opportunities, weekend programs for families, and weeklong summer camps.

Since the DNA Learning Center was established in 1988, it has been advancing genetics education for students and families. It delivers biotechnology instruction through laboratory field trips for students in New York and beyond. More than 700,000 middle and high school students have experienced their hands-on approach to science instruction over the last 30+ years.

They will offer in-person field trips and summer camps in their new Brooklyn location. Summer camps will be available from June 28 to September 3 for students in Grade 6 and up offering classes like DNA barcoding, fun with DNA, world of enzymes, forensic detectives, green genes and more. Camp costs per week are $550 and up.
