Free kid-friendly indoor events and activities in February

We have put together an overview of free indoor activities and events for kids of all ages in Downtown Brooklyn, DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights.

Free family program at Brooklyn Historical Society DUMBO 

Brooklyn Historical Society is offering a midmorning family programming geared towards children ages 2 and up and their adults twice a month at Brooklyn Historical Society DUMBO. Programs will alternate between storytelling and age appropriate hands-on activities designed for individual or multiple participants. All programs run from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm bimonthly on Saturdays. Free RSVP here.

Free movie night at Seamore’s DUMBO | Every Sunday 4 – 6 pm

Disney classics will be shown every Sunday starting at 4 pm at Seamore’s Restaurant in DUMBO in February. Kids eat free from 4 – 6 pm.

Free concert at DeKalb Market Hall | Every Monday and Thursday

Singing Cowboy every Monday and Thursday at 10.30 am at DeKalb Market Hall at City Point in Downtown Brooklyn.

Spanish music show at Randolph Beer in Dumbo Heights 

A free music show for all little monsters up to 3 years old and their families. Rock n LoLo teaches Spanish through music. Randolph Beer will be opening their doors early, at 10am, on the second Sunday of every month starting February 10th.

Brooklyn Heights Library | Ongoing

Free activities and events including babies & books, Lego club, Friday movie nights and more at the local public library at 109 Remsen Street taking place almost daily for babies up to teens. All details here!

DUMBO Tot Shabbat | Thursdays

The DUMBO Gan Preschool is hosting DUMBO Tot Shabbat on Thursdays from 3 to 4 pm at the DUMBO Gan at 205 Plymouth Street. Featuring an interactive kids Shabbat music class and challah baking. All ages are welcome. No need to RSVP, just show up.

Barnes & Noble Story Time | Saturdays

Saturdays at 11 am story time and activities for children 2 years and up at Barnes & Noble at 106 Court Street. Free! Detailed schedule here!

Environmental Education Center – Brooklyn Bridge Park | Ongoing

The center offers multiple interactive elements and a reading corner. It contains two signature exhibits: a marine aquarium and a Discovery Station. The 500-gallon display aquarium showcases fish collected from the East River during the Conservancy’s popular seining programs. The aquarium also contain a child-friendly touch tank where visitors can gently interact with starfish, crabs and mussels.The center inside the 99 Plymouth building in DUMBO is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays 1 to 5 pm as well as Tuesdays and Thursdays 3 to 5 pm.

Join us on Saturday 3/2 from 11 am to 4 pm at our Bklyn Indoor Block Party at City Point with free STEM activities, arts and crafts, face painting, bouncy house, Lego building challenge and much more!
