Major street rehabilitation project in DUMBO kicking off 2019

Dumbo will undergo a major capital project to upgrade sewer and water infrastructure, reconstruct the Belgian block streets and build-out the Archway plaza space. The old original stones will be preserved and granite bike lanes will be added. Smooth stones will also be put into crosswalks to ensure ADA accessibility and stroller-friendliness. More stop signs will be added and crosswalks will be refurbished.

Streets on the docket include Pearl Street, Water Street, John Street, parts of Front Street and Jay Street, Pearl Plaza (including Anchorage Place + the Archway), Adams Street, Plymouth Street and Main Street.

The project is scheduled to start in the spring of 2019 and is expected to take 5 years. There will be times when streets will be either one-lane or blocked for traffic all together during construction. Details will be communicated when construction begins.
