Butler bake shop and Espresso bar has opened a 1200 sq ft bakery at 60 Water Street in DUMBO. For breakfast they offer petite French toast, breakfast empanada, Ricotta toast and more. The lunch menu features items such as mushroom tartine, sausage roll and kale salad. For bread lovers they are introducing a European style Sour Dough with whole organic wheat baked on the pan with a thick crust. They also offer baking classes on Thursday nights at 5:30 and 7 pm for $59. They will run a special for kids baking classes commencing in October. Hours will be 7 am to 6 pm on weekdays and 8 am to 6 pm on weekends.
Cafe Gitane is now open in Vinegar Hill next to Vinegar Hill House on the corner of Water Street and Hudson Avenue. Daily opening hours are 9 am to 6 pm.
Sweetgreen is set to open a location at 125 Court Street in Downtown Brooklyn later this year. They offer seasonal salads and grain bowls made in-house from scratch, using whole produce delivered that morning including Hummus Tahina, Kale Ceasar and Guacamole Greens salads and Curry Chickpea and Harvest bowls.
