New details and survey about the public library coming to DUMBO

A new library is coming to DUMBO in 2020 serving the Vinegar Hill, DUMBO, and Farragut communities! It will be located on the ground floor of a former factory building at 135 Plymouth Street (with an entrance on Adams Street) and front Brooklyn Bridge Park with views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges.

There is currently 6,565 square feet of raw space that will be transformed to house library materials (books, media, etc), meeting rooms, facilities and programming space for children, teens and adults. The New York-based architecture firm, WORK Architecture Company (“WorkAC”) , has been hired to design the new branch.

The team has put out a short survey to be filled out by community members to help with the design and programming for this new library.

They will also attend the upcoming Earth Day event on Saturday, April 20 at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Activities at the event include an Earth Day Storytime, Library crafts, a chance to visit the Bookmobile, and Raffle Giveaways.
