No zoned Kindergarten waitlists in District 13 and 15 this year

Just under 55,500 families applied to Kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year, down from almost 63,000 the year prior which is a 12% decrease citywide.

A record 92 percent of students received an offer to one of the choices submitted on their application, an increase from 91 percent in 2020. 88 percent received an offer to one of their top three choices, an increase from 85 percent in 2020, and 75 percent of students received an offer to their top choice, an increase from 71 percent in 2020.

The Department of Education was not able to provide a break-down for the decrease in applications in District 13 and 15, however they did confirm that there were no wait lists for zoned Kindergarten students at any public elementary schools in District 13 or 15 this year.

Families will have various options to accept their offer, either online, by phone or directly with their offered school.
