Program details: Like a salad with its colorful mix of ingredients, our community of interdisciplinary educators have the potential to teach in a wide range of disciplines in support of your child’s social-emotional well-being. We have instructors who teach dance, yoga, art, acting, playwriting, photography, and more. Depending on the needs and interests of your pod, we have the capacity to build an engaging and varied class(es) for you. Our educators come with years of teaching experience and are fully background checked. In inclement weather classes are held via Zoom. Pod classes max out at 6 students.

Program details: Brooklyn Dance Conservatory currently offers socially distanced, drop-in dance classes in Prospect Park for ages 1.5 to 5. Classes are always engaging, and use children’s inherent creativity to keep them having fun, while moving and learning. Classes include a variety of dance styles including ballet, modern, jazz, and hip hop.
Ages: 1.5 – 5 years old
Dates/times: Mondays-Fridays. Saturdays coming soon! The days and times of classes vary from week to week to accommodate different families’ schedules and weather.

Program details: At Brooklyn Garden Playschool we believe that nature is the best teacher. Children in our care experience nature through each part of the day and develop into creative, intuitive, eco-conscious individuals. Our programs are montessori inspired and nature based. Creative Movement and Dance | Cadman Plaza
Program Details: Creative Movement and Dance is about having fun, using our imaginations, and being active. We will play games to spark creativity and improvisation. Ballet vocabulary, musicality, and coordination are part of the mix as well. Classes are taught by a Juilliard graduate and former professional dancer.
Ages: 3-8
Days/Times: Generally classes are held Tuesdays 10:15-11am, Fridays 10:15-11am, and Fridays 4-4:45. Morning times will change once school begins in the Fall. Dates and times are flexible to accommodate weather and everyone’s availability.

Child’s Play NY Outdoor Play Pods
Program details: Our curriculum supports vital social-emotional well-being as kids experience playing in-person. Groups are capped at 5 students and games are socially-distant while still being engaging, physical and artistic. We work to support children through a range of experiences, prioritizing peer-connection, gross-motor release and empowering new skills. Play/work takes place outdoors. Program details: Gather a group of 4-12 friends, and we’ll pair you with one of our amazing Kids in the Game coaches to support your child’s remote learning schedule. This option is created for families who elect to have children do remote learning from home, but would still like a sports option either before or after their studies. Program details: Nido Forest is a Spanish language, play-based, outdoor class for children ages 1.5 to 5 years old with a caregiver. We meet in several locations in Prospect Park and Fort Greene Park. No Spanish language experience is required to join, though many families have some connection to the language. Program details: At Sonic Soccer we’re all about “shooting for success” – whether on or off the playing field. Our program uses small weighted soccer balls from the Brazilian Futsal style that slow the game down to optimize the time every child has with the ball. Our method of teaching develops motor skills and problem solving skills, and helps improve the communication and creative skills we use in our everyday lives.

Treasure Trunk Theatre Outdoor Classes
Program details: Act, move, create, and play… Where will your imagination take you today? Add Treasure Trunk classes to your child’s schedule this fall. Whether they are attending online or in-person school, our top-ranked classes will get them creating, imagining, and collaborating with other students. Treebath Outdoor Learning Pod | Prospect Park
Program details: Treebath’s Outdoor Learning Pods emphasize the importance of outdoor play and socialization in childhood education. These Outdoor Learning Pods take place entirely outdoors in various local parks. With a maximum of 5 kids per Pod, children will be lead by one of Treebath’s trained nature teachers. Outdoor Learning Pods will center on a sustainability curriculum that includes active, cognitive and mindfulness activities that get kids moving, thinking and engaging with nature.
Ages: Pre-K – 2nd Grade
Dates/times: Pod classes run in four week sessions and meet five days a week (9.30 am – 5.30 pm). Each daily classes is two hours. Session one runs September 14 through October 9, 2020 (4 consecutive weeks).
