Petitions to build a second entrance for York Street Station and for mobile food vendor ban in DUMBO

The York Street F Station is a critical access point to DUMBO, Vinegar Hill, Farragut, the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Brooklyn Bridge Park and now, the new Wegman’s grocery store. However, with only a single station entrance, York Street Station today is ill-equipped to handle the volume of straphangers coming and going from Dumbo each day. The community needs a second entrance now. Sign the petition by the DUMBO BID (Business Improvement District) to send a strong message to the MTA, Governor Cuomo and Mayor DeBlasio.

The residents and shop owners of DUMBO and Fulton Ferry Landing, request that ALL STREET VENDORS be restricted from local streets. Trucks and carts park illegally; vend illegally; return regularly to spots from which the police evict them. They flaunt the laws on health, environment, traffic, safety and their own permits. Trucks’ regular illegal parking next to and even in crosswalks and next to schools creates safety hazards. Their generators’ noise and NO2 (nitrogen dioxide) emissions permeates homes and businesses. The petition requests that the area from Old Fulton Street to Bridge Street from Plymouth Street to York Street become a NO VENDING AREA. Sign the petition here.
