Day camps in the City have started to open. Our overview includes 26 camps in Brooklyn for students as young as 3 years old that will host in person sessions, some of them outdoors only. The new day camp guidelines include limiting group sizes to 10 while keeping the same 10 people exclusively together; requiring adults to wear face masks whenever they’re within six feet of others; temperature checks; frequent hand washing; disinfecting of equipment; and a protocol if someone tests positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Art Workshop Experience (AWE SUMMER)

Program: Art Workshop Experience (AWE) is for young artists (10-18 years) who want to make art in a studio environment and build their artistic skills. Only 16 students per session and following all protocols: masks worn, temperatures taken upon entering, 6 feet social distancing, one table per student, no shared use of materials and tools. Beansprouts Day Camp

Program: At Beansprouts’ Day Camp, we believe that all the elements of a memorable, meaningful summer are there inside of every child. Children are full of imagination, energy, curiosity, excitement, and the capacity for friendship. What we do is provide the opportunities, companions, resources, games, and free space and time for these elements to emerge. We are lucky to have our own yard space we can use and we will hopefully be able to go to the park in small groups. We were planning on swimming this summer at Fort Hamilton’s outdoor pool, and we are waiting for confirmation that they will be open. In addition to smaller groups, all camp groups will be split into pods.  Pods will be made up of 6 children and a counselor. Pods will be kept consistent during the week and as consistent as possible throughout the summer.  Interaction between pods and groups will be limited.
