“What I love best about Open House Nursery School is that it both meets young children where they are and encourages them to deepen and develop new skills. My oldest was so shy that she barely spoke to nonfamily members. Her Open House teacher kept gently inviting her to talk until by the end of the year she was completely comfortable sharing during meeting and interacting with her peers. You would never believe she had ever been shy! My youngest had indications of high math ability, and her Open House teacher showed us how we could help her extend those abilities through age-appropriate activities such as drawing and singing. For nearly 50 years, Open House has been providing nurturing, inclusive and joyful early childhood programs that emphasize community and collaboration. Our school in Boerum Hill, which has five classrooms, a private rooftop playground, and a dedicated indoor movement room, was specifically constructed for young children. We offer flexible scheduling – 3, 4, and 5 days – with extended days and vacation programs so that families may create schedules that best suit their needs.
