Program Details: The Parenting Center at the Brooklyn Heights Synagogue is a place for children and their parents to come together for support, education, community and fun! More than just a playgroup, we offer ongoing and one-time programs, lectures and classes designed to provide resources for the unique challenges faced by anyone raising young children in NYC and provide opportunities for families to engage with Jewish holidays, traditions and values. Music Classes with Music Together | Brooklyn Heights

Program Details: Music Together offers 45-minute classes include songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play. These activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences—developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers—regardless of their own musical ability.

Ages: 4 months – 4 years (mixed-age classes)

Cost: Tuition is $400 for ten weeks, $125 for siblings above eight months. (No charge for siblings below 8 months.) Venmo or cash accepted.

Naomi’s Music with Music Together | Brooklyn Heights

Program Details: Music Together offers 45-minute classes and at home materials to help families support musical development in their little ones. Classes and on-demand videos from Naomi, include songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play and lots of educational nuggets. Program Details: Baby & Me Postnatal Yoga invites new caregivers and babies to connect in a loving space where they can nourish mind, body and spirit. Expect yoga postures, yin restorative poses and pelvic floor conditioning linked to the breath and designed to encourage a renewed sense of strength and ease in the postpartum body. Anything goes—one is welcome to feed or change babies during class and rejoin as they can! Prema Yoga also offers Prema Prenatal classes for mothers-to-be.

Program Details: Families First is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Brooklyn families. Members have access to open play, free classes including yoga and story time, and more. Book Babes, however, is free and open to the entire community! Early Explorers with Reina @ Elite Minds Montessori | Columbia St. Waterfront

Program Details: Welcome Early Explorers! We are excited to be spending time together as your child has the opportunity to cruise around and explore the classroom and materials independently, allowing them to seek out what interests them and get familiar with the environment, other children and adults. During our session, there’ll be activities for exploration based on curiosity. As the children get comfortable and begin to trust the environment, we will add some sensorial materials which will include some wet and some dry (paint, other dry ones). Program Details: Spit-Ups and Sit-Ups is a meticulously crafted prenatal and postpartum fitness class dedicated to empowering new parents and caregivers on their journey to reclaiming health and vitality. Classes are adapted for prenatal and postpartum bodies, open to all new parents and their babies of any fitness level. Feel free to bring baby gear, including strollers. During class, babies can relax in their strollers, play on the provided baby mat, or be worn by their parent.

Alamo for All @ Alamo Drafthouse | Downtown Brooklyn

Tuesday mornings and afternoons

Program Details: Alamo for All is a movie program for young families and guests with special needs. Every Tuesday morning and afternoon, the theatre offers kid-friendly screenings where children under 6 are allowed (including infants). The lights are turned up and the sound is turned down; talking and noise are allowed, and guests can move around. Learn more here.

We Dance: Postpartum @ Mark Morris Dance Center | Downtown Brooklyn

Mondays at 9:00am & 10:00am, Saturdays at 9:00am

Program Details: Designed for caregivers and babies ages newborn through new walkers, We Dance: Postpartum merges the rhythm and fun of dance class with a dancer’s understanding of how to move in physically healthy ways. Class is a bonding experience for caregivers with their child, a chance to meet others in their community, and recognizes the specific needs of a caregiver and new child. It will focus on developing muscle groups to ease the strain of picking up babies, providing cues for maintaining healthy alignment through the spine, and self-care through dancing in community with others, all through fun activities set to musical accompaniment!

Note: This is a new program! More session dates will be added as Mark Morris gains a better understanding of the needs of this community.

Program Details: A longtime New York Family Favorite, Ramblin’ Dan’s Freewheelin’ Band provides high energy and engaging music classes driven by playful musicality and skillful guitar work. Diapers & Dumbbells @ Crossfit South Brooklyn | Gowanus

Mondays & Wednesdays, 1:30-2:30pm

Program Details: Diapers & Dumbbells is a prenatal & postpartum fitness class designed to help new parents and care givers safely return to exercise, connect with other parents, and develop the strength they need to support their growing babies. This is a one-hour class that focuses on pregnancy appropriate fitness and includes time for socializing with other parents and their babies. Diapers & Dumbbells provides a supportive environment and is appropriate for individuals with or without previous CrossFit experience. Classes are open to mothers (and partners) of all fitness levels and their pre-walking babies. We provide staffed child care in the same space for the duration of the class. This is an opportunity to work on your fitness while we keep an eye on your baby just steps away!

Ages: Recommended for mothers at least 5 weeks postpartum; babies should be pre-walking

Program Details: Started by two occupational therapists, PlayWell Brooklyn was sparked from a desire to bring integrated play to our community and families! PlayWell currently offers Tiny Tunes, an immersive music class for babies and adults, and Tumble Tykes, a fun and interactive class to help babies to develop their gross motor skills, coordination and balance. PlayWell also offers open play, and much more!

Ages: Tiny Tunes is for 6 months to 3 years; Tumble Tykes is for babies who are learning to crawl.

Pre- and Post-Natal Yoga @ Brooklyn Flow | Park Slope

Postnatal: Parent + Baby | Wednesdays, 10:15-11:15am

Program Details: Brooklyn Flow (formerly Bend + Bloom Yoga) offers yoga classes, postpartum groups, childbirth education classes, and workshops to help you care for yourself and your family through the childbearing years. Their Postnatal Yoga class includes 50 minutes of flowing yoga, followed by infant massage and gentle stretching. (Bring an extra blanket for your baby!) Tummy Time @ Dynamic Solutions | Park Slope

Program Details: Learn skills and gain confidence to help your baby stay on track to meet their milestones! This class is led by a licensed occupational therapist and is for caregivers and their babies aged 0-8 months who are not crawling yet. It is a fun class, packed with information, and is focused on incorporating floor play into your baby’s routine to help your baby learn to crawl and explore their little world. Fun floor time activities include tummy time, rolling, sitting, and tips for positioning and play during the early months to promote movement!

Program Details: Join yoga teacher Rachel for her 8-week complete body restructuring programs. Rachel’s 3-phase, doctor recommended fitness method guides you from prenatal, through early postpartum to active mom. Babies are welcome to all Foundations classes, and can be placed on a small blanket next to you mat. All other classes are for moms only. On-demand online classes also available!

Ages: All post-partum moms welcome; babies should be pre-crawling if they attend.

Music Classes with Moozika | Various Locations

Program Details: Moozika is an interactive music program for children ages newborn to five years old and their adults. Our lively classes promote children’s musicality and development through singing, dancing, and playing instruments (shakers, bells, drums, and more.) Classes move through a dynamic mix of playful all original songs written by its founder and teacher, Jesse Goldman. Puppets, a giant parachute, dancing scarves, children’s stories, and other props create a joyful and age-appropriate learning environment. Program Details: Our Tiny Tykes and their parents are led through a variety of beginning stretches, exercises, infant songs and dances, baby-safe rides and adventures, balance and agility skills, and introductory tumbling during this motivating program. Program Details: Being a new parent shouldn’t curtail cinema-going which is why Nitehawk happily provides our ongoing Adults with Infants series. Offering first-run features every Tuesday afternoon with full food and beverage service, our Adults with Infants screenings are a great opportunity for new parents to be able to get out of the house and into an afternoon movie with their babies.

Program Details: Treasure Trunk Theatre hosts creative classes for children of all ages, including storytelling classes for babies and their caregivers.
