Family-friendly fall festivals to look forward to in Brooklyn

Our annual Back to School Party in Brooklyn Heights, a 50 years of Hip Hop party for families, the Brooklyn Bridge Park fall festival, Atlantic Antic with our first Mommy Poppins x Brooklyn Bridge Parents fun zone with only free kids activities and many more fun festivals are coming up in Brooklyn. Back to School Party | Brooklyn Heights | Saturday 9/9

Join us for the Back to School Party by Mommy Poppins x Brooklyn Bridge Parents during Open Streets on Montague on Saturday, September 9 from 12 to 4 pm with free kids activities, performances and more. We will have games, arts & crafts, soccer, Ninja warrior training, face painting, kids fitness classes, squash, tennis, STEM stations and much more. Puppet shows by Puppetsburg best for ages up to 5, a kids concert by Hopalong Andrew and a dance party by Hype Dance best for ages up to 8. Enjoy car free blocks from Clinton – Henry & Henry – Hicks. Best for ages 0 – 12. Open Streets on Montague is a project of the Montague Street Business Improvement District in collaboration with the Brooklyn Heights Association and the New York City Department of Transportation. BRIC Hip-Hop 50th Anniversary Block Party | Sunday 9/10

Sun 09.10 @ 12 to 6pm – Gather at BRIC House for a free day of family art making, musical performances, panel talks, and workshops, and learn more about BRIC Hip-Hop, an evergreen home for the education, expression, and evolution of hip-hop, long after the 50th Anniversary celebrations fade.

Brooklyn Book Festival Children’s Day | Downtown Brooklyn | Saturday 9/30

With a Picture Book Stage, Young Reader’s Stage, and Performance Stage, and a dedicated Makers & Creators corner, families enjoy a full day of readings, workshops, performances, book signings, and art projects with favorite authors and illustrators. Kids can get creative with their favorite authors at workshops and even get their books signed. Plus, the whole family can find new favorite books at the Children’s Marketplace of Books. Atlantic Antic | Various neighborhoods | Sunday 10/1

The Atlantic Antic™ Festival will be held on Sunday, October 1, 12 to 6 pm, rain or shine. Brooklyn’s oldest and largest street festival spans 10 blocks through the heart of Brooklyn, passing through the neighborhoods of Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Heights, and Downtown Brooklyn. The Atlantic Antic™ is proud to announce, for the first time Mommy Poppins & Brooklyn Bridge Parents will be creating a Family Fun Zone between Hicks and Henry Streets near the new NYU Langone Health- Cobble Hill Emergency Facility. The Mommy Poppins X Brooklyn Bridge Fun Zone will be filled with family fun entertainment. Free activities such as a mini squash court, a cardboard maze, freebies, arts & crafts, interactive games, balloon twisting, Lego building and much more will be among the many attractions within the zone for kids of all ages.

More family fun will be happening in the Weill Cornell Medicine Kids Zone on Boerum Place between Atlantic Avenue and State Street. There will be lots of  fee-based bouncy houses and face painting. Look for the Brooklyn Nets basketball court, Homage Skateboard Academy, Kids Breaking Foundation and the World Explorers Group.

Fall Fest | Atlantic Terminal Mall Plaza | Saturday, October 14

Atlantic Terminal Mall, Mommy Poppins and Brooklyn Bridge Parents are hosting a FREE family-friendly fall festival on Atlantic Terminal’s outdoor plaza and car-free Fort Greene Place on Saturday, October 14th from 12 to 3 PM (rain date: Sunday, October 15th from 12 to 3 PM). The outdoor plaza will feature arts & crafts, pumpkin painting (take home your own decorated pumpkin just like in the photos), block building, music & more! Kids are encouraged to come in costumes. 

Brooklyn Bridge Park Harvest Festival | Pier 6 | Saturday, October 21

Join the community this fall as we celebrate the changing of the seasons at the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s annual Harvest Festival! Don’t miss the kick-off procession, arts and crafts, storytelling, lawn games and more—including their signature pumpkin patch. Saturday, October 21 from 11 am to 4 pm at Pier 6.
