Free artmaking workshops for kids celebrating 125 years of the Brooklyn Children’s Museum

Brooklyn Org, Brooklyn Children’s Museum and City Point introduce a dynamic youth workshop series and exhibition honoring 125 years of the Brooklyn Children’s Museum through creativity, movement, and artistic expression. Led by Danielle M. Chery, Founder of DMC Original Art, and gallerist Tyler Jordan, this immersive experience invites young artists to explore the world of fluid art, crafting mesmerizing canvases that capture the energy, diversity, and history of Brooklyn. Participants will learn acrylic pour techniques such as color mixing, pouring, tilting, and layering to create beautiful marbled patterns and abstract compositions.

The FREE hands-on art workshops for young artists ages 8–13 will take place on 4 dates, each artist is eligible to register for one workshop only:

The BKLYN Youth Art in Motion exhibit will launch at City Point in Downtown Brooklyn on June 7 and run through June 15, celebrating the artistic voices of Brooklyn’s next generation. Each participant will contribute to a collective exhibition celebrating 125 years of the Brooklyn Children’s Museum while also creating a personal masterpiece to take home as a lasting keepsake from this transformative experience. Each artwork will be available for purchase at $50 per canvas, with all proceeds benefiting the Brooklyn Children’s Museum. This initiative supports arts education and instills confidence in young artists, giving them the opportunity to experience the excitement of showcasing and selling their work.

All materials at the workshops will be provided, and light refreshments will be available. Parents and guardians are welcome to stay and enjoy the creative atmosphere but can also drop off their child. Space is limited and your rsvp is a commitment to attend.
