The Atlantic Avenue ArtWalk is a free, 1.5-mile, self-guided event from Fourth Avenue to the Waterfront, showcasing a diverse collection of art from over 125 emerging and established local artists at 60+ participating businesses such as galleries, salons, restaurants, and home decor shops. Visitors of all ages can stroll through the historic neighborhoods of Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill and Downtown Brooklyn to see the art of various mediums including paintings, drawings, three-dimensional art, mixed media, photography, live art and walking tours.

Music for Autism Presents: Synaptic Groove Band at Brooklyn Heights Library | Brooklyn Heights

Join us for a free, interactive, in-person, autism-friendly concert! Synaptic Groove Band is a unique, Long Island band that performs the hits and teaches people about the science of music! They play everything from jazz to blues and funk and from disco to country and classic rock. Join keyboardist and vocalist Paul Block and saxophonist Dr. Alan Ettinger at the library and get into the groove.

On May 10, Park Slope streets will be filled with thousands of attendees, more than 100 musicians, and 16 different stages at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music’s fifth-annual Open Stages music festival. An annual tradition that began during the pandemic in May 2021, Open Stages has now become wildly popular. From big brass bands to sea shanties to cover-band fun outside the Commissioner, this year’s Open Stages will have something for everyone. Showcasing more than 15 musical genres, this year’s festival will include featured performances from Honk NYC, The Opera Next Door, Cole Quest and the City Pickers, the Brooklyn Cyclones Surf Squad, and Dancewave. Join our docents for a free walking tour to learn about the history of the Brooklyn waterfront, Brooklyn Bridge Park’s sustainable design and ecology, and how the Park came to life! Monuments to Motherhood: Mother’s Day Celebration | Prospect Park

Join Prospect Park Alliance and artist and activist Molly Gochman for a Mother’s Day celebration in Brooklyn’s Backyard! At the site of Monuments to Motherhood, a 15-foot bronze sculpture honoring and celebrating caregiving in all forms, enjoy family-friendly activities to honor the mother figure or caregiver in your life. This event will be held at the sculpture site near the Grand Army Plaza Entrance. The afternoon will feature an opportunity to meet the artist, learn more about the inspiration behind the piece, enjoy flower and tote bag giveaways, and more fun:
- Collective Nest Making | 12-4pm | Come together to create a communal “nest” near the Monuments to Motherhood sculpture to honor the enduring support provided by caregivers in our community.

Second Sundays at Pioneer Works | Red Hook
Since 2013, Pioneer Works has hosted Second Sundays, a free monthly open house. Spring Meadow Ecology Walk at Naval Cemetery Landscape | Williamsburg

Learn about how native wildflowers and how plants support a rich array of life: soil and other microorganisms, insects, birds, and us! Participants will observe a designed and managed landscape where aesthetics are just one of many components that guide the design and maintenance and learn how plant and management choices affect habitat.
