Free kid-friendly events this week in Brooklyn (8/4-8/10)

August is heating up with kid-friendly fun all across the borough! This week brings a full lineup of outdoor concerts and summer movies under the stars, with screenings and performances in Brooklyn Bridge Park, Prospect Park, Red Hook, Bed-Stuy, Sunset Park, Coney Island, and beyond. Other top picks include the NYPD’s National Night Out with family-friendly festivities across Brooklyn, the Summer Stroll street festival in Bay Ridge, Splish Splash Saturdays at Hoyt Open Streets in Boerum Hill, Climate Sing performances in Brooklyn Bridge Park, Second Sundays at Pioneer Works in Red Hook, and tap dancing at Lefferts Historic House in Prospect Park.

Join Andrew in front of the Domino beehives on River Street near S 1st St Entrance to meet the Domino bees, learn how they contribute to the overall ecosystem of the Park and how the honey is made!

The Dance: Tap Dance, from Master Juba to Hip Hop at Lefferts Historic House | Prospect Park

Join for an exploration of tap dance. Starting with African American Master Juba, considered the father of tap dance, this performance takes the audience on a journey from the early 1800s, through the swing jazz and bebop era to modern-day hip-hop.
