The 2025 English Language Arts and Math state test results are in for charter school students in grades 3–8. Percentages show the share of students who met or exceeded expectations on these exams. English and Math results for Charter schools in District 13 & 15

Students at Success Academy achieved the highest scores, with multiple campuses reaching 100% proficiency in Math and up to 99% in English. Hellenic Classical in Park Slope also stood out, with 87% in English and 89% in Math—well above district and citywide averages. Community Roots Charter School followed with 81% in English and 76% in Math. Brooklyn Prospect Charter School ranked among the top performers as well, with 79% in English and 77% in Math, while Compass Charter School posted 79% in English and 75% in Math.
Charter vs. public school results in 2025
Brooklyn charter school scores rose as high as 44 points higher than the citywide public school averages for English Language Arts and Math tests. However, scores are trending upwards in public schools, with math scores increasing 3.5 points (57% of students meeting or exceeding the standards) and English Language Arts scores increasing 7 points (56% of students meeting or exceeding the standards).
The following public schools had the highest performing students on these tests in 2025:
- PS 11 in Clinton Hill: 97% in Math, 97% in English
- PS 29 in Cobble Hill: 90% in Math, 91% in English
- PS 8 in Brooklyn Heights: 91% in Math, 91% in English
- PS 31 in Greenpoint: 89% in Math, 91% in English
- PS 34 in Greenpoint: 88% in Math, 91% in English
- PS 172 in Sunset Park: 90% in Math, 94% in English
