New NYC Ferry routes coming in December – plus unlimited two-day tickets

NYC Ferry will roll out new routes and faster service on December 8, 2025. Brooklyn will get new connections to Staten Island and Manhattan’s west side, along with more direct service between South Brooklyn and Midtown. And this fall, riders can also take advantage of a limited-time offer: unlimited two-day ferry tickets.

Our new Events Calendar is here featuring convenient filters by category, location, ages, dates and more to make your Brooklyn social life as fun and meaningful as possible.

After the first-ever analysis of the NYC Ferry system and a survey of more than 15,000 New Yorkers, system-wide changes will be implemented. The changes include:

  • The East River will now have two routes throughout the day, serving more riders and making trips faster.
  • Brooklyn will now be connected to Staten Island (St. George route). Brooklyn will now be connected to Manhattan’s west side, and Staten Island riders can now transfer to any route.
  • The South Brooklyn route will now have direct access to Midtown from Red Hook and Atlantic Ave. Plus, the South Brooklyn route will connect Sunset Park and Bay Ridge to Red Hook and other stops on summer weekends.
  • The Soundview and Rockaway routes will be combined, so riders from Rockaway and Sunset Park can get to Midtown and East 90th Street without a transfer.
  • Finally, Rockaway shuttle bus service will operate during peak times on weekdays to serve all weekday peak departures, and on summer weekends. It will not operate at other times.

This fall, NYC Ferry is also offering a $15 Unlimited Two-Day Ticket, giving riders unlimited trips for 48 hours across all routes when activated. These passes are available for a limited time only in the NYC Ferry app. The pass is valid for one rider per boarding and must be activated within 90 days of purchase.
