April is a packed month for tweens and teens! From car shows in Brooklyn and Manhattan, to jewelry making in Gowanus, spring break knitting camp in Bensonhurst, a Bad Bunny karaoke party in Brooklyn Heights, an art fair in Clinton Hill, a vintage clothing marketplace and comics showcase in Sunset Park, and the NY Jets draft night at the Seaport, teens have plenty of fun and educational activities to check out.

Wheels of NYC returns to the Brooklyn Navy Yard, bringing classic cars together with NYC’s fashion, music, and food in one curated daytime experience. Visitors will find a selected lineup of classic cars, a marketplace of apparel and collectibles, DJs throughout the day, curated food vendors, a bar, and adult and kids activations.

Junior Jewelry Making Workshop at PlayWell Brooklyn | Gowanus

Looking to pick up a new craft? Already know how to knit and want to meet people who do too? Come on down to the Ryder Library for Teen Knitting Camp! Any skill level welcome. Over the course of 3 days, participants will learn the basics of knitting and then knit a bookmark! All supplies provided.

Smash the Stigma at the Jamaica Bay Library | Canarsie

Smash the Stigma is a program designed to explore and challenge common misconceptions about mental health through art, storytelling, and meaningful conversation. Inspired by the mission of the Yellow Tulip Project, a youth-driven movement dedicated to breaking down the silence and stigma around mental illness, this program invites participants to engage with powerful visual narratives, share their own experiences, and build empathy and understanding together. The goal is not only to see mental health differently, but to talk about it  because open dialogue creates connection, reduces isolation, and helps build supportive communities.

Teen Time: Plant Giveaway for Earth Month at the Greenpoint Library and Environmental Education Center | Greenpoint

Teens can come to the Teen Zone to pick up an air purifying plant and to see how they have an impact on the air around them by using an air monitor from the library’s very own Tool Library. Participants will discuss how to care for plants, how plants are important in our lives, and listen to plant-friendly music.

Tween Book Group with Megan Discussing Max in the House of Spies: A Tale of World War II at Greenlight Bookstore | Clinton Hill

Clinton Hill Library is pairing with Pratt Institute for an art fair! Members of the school will give a lesson on how to apply to art colleges and start a burgeoning artistic career. There will also be tables with crafts and demonstrations from each of the major schools from Pratt Institute: Liberal Arts, Information, Design, Art, and Architecture. For the little ones, the BPL art van will also be there with crafts!

Brooklyn Independent Comics Showcase (BICS) at Industry City | Sunset Park

Brooklyn Independent Comics Showcase is an annual comics and art convention in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. BICS highlights independent comics creators, artists, writers, and small press publishers. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet creators, shop, and attend panels, classes, and signings – all for free!
