The Madison Square Boys & Girls Club at 240 Nassau Street is a free after school club that serves up to 200 students from underserved neighborhoods in Brooklyn. At their Navy Yard Clubhouse young people build trusting relationships with adults and peers, get academic guidance and emotional support, cultivate their interests, and build a second home that helps them grow and thrive.
The program which is offered to students from 6 to 18 years runs on weekdays from 2.45 pm to 9 pm (school pick-up available). The facility includes a basketball court sponsored by the Brooklyn Nets, a computer lab, cafeteria and more. Students are engaged in homework help, sports, STEM programs and more throughout the afternoon with a 10:1 ratio. A free meal is provided to all students. The priorities of the program are to foster academic success, good character & citizenship and healthy lifestyles.
