Brooklyn Heights finally becoming slow zone

The NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) has announced that it will begin implementing the long-awaited Brooklyn Heights Slow Zone starting in the next weeks. Small-scale construction activity will take place throughout the neighborhood.

The DOT will lower the speed limit on all streets within the zone to 20 mph, install 21 speed humps and 9 sets of signs and markings at the entry points to the neighborhood, an upgrade of existing roadway markings, high-visibility crosswalks, and speed hump signs.
