The Department of Education has released COVID guidelines for fall 2022 for public schools dropping in school PCR testing and continues to recommend non-mandatory mask wearing and vaccination for students.
- Mask wearing will be optional for all students and staff including 3k for All and Pre-K
- Vaccines will not be mandated for students (unless they participate in certain after school activities)
- All DOE staff and visitors must be vaccinated against COVID 19
- Schools will offer home test kits to those with a potential in-school exposure and those with symptoms. In addition, each staff and student will receive 4 tests per month to take home.
- No more PCR testing at school
- Students who test positive for Covid, must stay at home for 5 days. They can return to school on day 6 if they have no symptoms, or if their symptoms are improving. They must wear masks at school through day 10.
- Students will no longer be required to fill out a daily health screener to enter the building
