The CEC 13 has voted on the rezoning of our neighborhood elementary schools PS 8 and PS 307 at a special calendar meeting on January 5, 2016. The rezoning has been approved. 6 out of 9 CEC members voted with yes, 3 voted with no on the rezoning proposal of the Department of Education.

Here are the details:
- Brooklyn Heights, Old Fulton Street, Concord Village and the new Pierhouse 1 will be zoned for PS 8
- The new PS 307 zoning line will follow the Brooklyn Bridge and everything east – DUMBO and Vinegar Hill – will be zoned for PS 307. The new building under construction at 213 Jay Street with almost 400 condos will also be in the PS 307 zone.
- The 3 Farragut Houses currently zoned for PS 8 will be rezoned for PS 307. The 2 Farragut Houses currently zoned for PS 287 won’t be affected by this rezoning and will stay zoned for PS 287. A total of 8 out of 10 Farragut Houses will be zoned for PS 307.
- The rezoning will go into effect for next school year for children born in 2011 who do not have older siblings at PS 8
