The Macy’s 4th of July fireworks will be back this year with a 25-minute-long display starting at around 9:25 pm and use more than 65,000-shells launched from five barges in the East River. Update 7/1: Viewing points according to the Mayor in our neighborhoods will be the Brooklyn Heights Promenade and Brooklyn Bridge Park even though there will be no barges South of the Brooklyn Bridge. All barges will be North of the Williamsburg Bridge from E20’s to 30’s. The best viewing locations will be in Manhattan, Williamsburg and Greenpoint. Both the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge Foot/Bike paths will be cleared of spectators and closed to the public at 7 pm. The same will be done at 5 pm by Brooklyn Bridge Park for the Squibb Bridge. John Street Park will be closed to new arrivals at 7 pm.
