New after school programs in Brooklyn this fall and winter

Brooklyn is kicking off back-to-school season with a fresh wave of new after-school programs, including programs in basketball, soccer, ceramics, dance, and more. Our roundup includes ages, days and times, costs, and locations for each class starting this fall. Plus, get ready new after school programs coming to DUMBO this fall and winter, with new locations of Space Club and Ferox Ninja Park opening in the neighborhood.

KinderPrep Enrichment Center | Brooklyn Bridge Park

KinderPrep Montessori has opened a brand-new 2,500 square foot Enrichment Center in Brooklyn Bridge Park, and will launch a new after-school program this fall.

Program details: Starting in September, this Montessori-inspired after-school program will offer structured homework support, a wide array of enrichment classes and activities, and outdoor playtime in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Snacks are included, and school pick-up is also available from PS 29. Flexible 3-day or 5-day options available. Learn more and schedule a tour here!

Brooklyn Basement Dance Company | DUMBO

A new dance company  is coming to DUMBO, classes for kids and teens ages 5-18. Fee intro classes are on offer starting August 16, and the studio will open on September 13.

Program details: Brooklyn Basement offers both recreational and competitive programs in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Acrobatics. Sign up for either their Dance Foundations program, or their Company program, which includes competition and performances.

Ages: 5-18

Costs: Foundations is $100 per class/month and $100 monthly fees; Company is $450/month and $200 months fees

McManus Irish Dance | Brooklyn Heights

After 12 years in Manhattan and Queens, McManus Irish Dance is bringing its Irish dance program to Brooklyn Heights, located at the Assumption Parish on Middagh Street.

Program details: Classes will be offered on Fridays at the Assumption Church Parish Center on Middagh Street, starting on September 9. Free trials for new dancers!

Brooklyn Basketball | Downtown Brooklyn 

The new 18,600-square-foot Brooklyn Basketball Training Center, by the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty, opens this fall across from Barclays Center on Flatbush Avenue. The facility features two full courts and a shooting lab.

Program details: The Brooklyn Basketball After-School Club offers high-quality training led by expert coaches for ages 6-14. The 8-week program offers one session per week for ages 6-8 and two sessions per week for ages 9+.

Hours: 3:30-4:30pm (ages 6-8), 4:30-5:30pm (ages 9-10), 5:30-6:30pm (ages 11-12), 6:30-7:30pm (ages 13-14)

KIDSUNITED | Park Slope

A new indoor soccer studio has opened in Park Slope, offering year-round classes for ages 1.5 to 8 in their climate-controlled space.

Program details: KIDSUNITED offers 45-minute soccer classes led by coaches trained in early childhood development. Kids will be divided into age groups: ages 1-3 and 4-8.

Ages: 1.5 to 9

Costs: $229-$459/month depending on number of classes per week. Sibling discounts available.

The Program NYC | Greenpoint 

The Program, a new 12,500-square-foot basketball training facility, opens September 2 in Greenpoint. It features regulation courts, weight and turf areas, a recovery room, a film room, and offers elite coaching and specialized training for young players.

Program details: The Program offers training up to three times weekly for Developmental (Grades 1–3), Youth (Grades 4–8), and High School (Grades 9–12) levels. It includes strength, agility, and conditioning drills, quarterly coach reports, guest speakers, and more.

Hours: After-school sessions start at 4:30pm

Slow Burn Ceramics | Gowanus 

A new ceramics studio has opened at 65 15th Street in Gowanus, with an After-School Clay Club in on offer for ages 8-11.

Program details: The after-school clay club in Handbuilding & Wheel Throwing runs Mondays and Tuesdays for 14 weeks starting September 8 and 9. Students practice techniques and develop skills through weekly projects. Note: no school pick-up is available at this time.

New After-School Lego Club at Private Picassos | Clinton Hill

Private Picassos, the art studio for kids, is offering a new unstructured after-school club!

Program details: Kids will have tons of legos to build with while they hang out after school at the studio! Perfect for independent kids who are looking for a little structure (and adult supervision) after-school. Note: This class is drop off, with optional pick up from PS 11 or 56 available.

Ferox Ninja Park | DUMBO | After School Program Coming Fall 2025

Ferox, the indoor ninja park based out Greenpoint, is opening a new location at 65 Jay Street in DUMBO this fall. The 5,000 square-foot space will be a smaller gym than the Greenpoint location, but will be equipped with a trampoline area, climbing walls, plus ninja warrior courses and more! They will offer after-school classes, as well as drop-in play, birthday parties, and more. Stay tuned for more info on the after school program, coming later this year!

Space Club | DUMBO | After School Program Coming January 2026

Space Club will open its third location in DUMBO on September 1. While after-school programs won’t begin until January 2026, now is the time to secure a membership—required for after school enrollment. Membership sales for the remainder of 2025 close on September 1, after which new members will no longer have all-access privileges at all locations. The new DUMBO space will feature a massive bead pit, a Magna-Tile pit, scarf-blowing machines, trampolines, a three-level playground with slides, a bedazzling room, multiple party rooms, a café, and even a rooftop greenhouse!

Program details: After school at Space Club includes homework time, open play, and enrichment classes such as arts and crafts. Pick-up available from nearby schools!

Ages: Pre-K through 6th Grade

Hours: 2:30-5:30pm (all weekdays except Fridays)

Costs: $99/month for 1 day/week; $149/month for 2 days/week; $179/month for 3 days/week; $199/month for 4 days/week
