Participatory Budgeting – Vote for projects in our neighborhood

Mark your calendars for  the week of March 26 – April 3rd to make a positive change, to cast your vote to benefit our community and improve our neighborhoods schools and specifically the F train station in DUMBO! Council Member Levin has dedicated 1.5 million dollars to PB this year and there are 15 projects to choose from. Everybody living in our neighborhood above 14 years old can vote – one location will be PS 8 on March 30 and 31st from 8 am to 11 am. All projects are listed here. Some highlights in our neighborhood:

Additional Turnstiles at York St Subway (F Train) York St Subway Station, DUMBO: Install additional turnstiles for York St Station in 2017 which will reduce congestion and long lines for the 9,000 weekday riders now limited to only three turnstiles. $250,000

Sweating Should Be Fun! K293, Int’l Studies, 284 Baltic St., Cobble Hill: The gym at this campus w/4 schools, needs AC! The only large activity space in this growing school also hosts community programs and can get really hot! $350,000

Finish the Upgrades PS261 Computer Carts, 314 Pacific St., Boerum Hill: PS261 is a K-5 school with 800 students. The wiring was upgraded but to utilize the improvements the students need new computers; four new carts will give them what they need! $140,000
