Through the petition of LoveOurPool: Families United for a Pool in Brooklyn Bridge Park an additional summer for families at the Pop-Up Pool at Pier 2 has been secured. The Pier 2 pop-up pool will remain open for summer 2017.
However, there no commitments for keeping the existing pool open beyond Summer 2017, nor are there formal plans in place for a permanent pool in Brooklyn Bridge Park.
The same group of parents has set up a new petition to keep the Pop-Up Pool open until there is a specific plan in place for a more permanent pool. Find out more and sign the petition here.
