It goes without saying as business owners, operating a successful preschool here in Brooklyn Heights comes with its challenges, but nothing like we have experienced since Covid struck in March of last year. Health and Safety have always been our first priority here at Building Bridges Preschool so designing and implementing a plan to reopen was an added step in our comprehensive process. Being founding members of the Brooklyn Coalition for Early Childhood Educators was an irreplaceable gift that formed out of this challenging time. Our Covid reopening plans were done with painstaking efforts and input from coalition members, health professionals and science. Our daily interactions with these plans are thorough and extremely thoughtful – we couldn’t do it without the sincere devotion from our staff, families and coalition members. We have been so fortunate thus far and can only continue to operate with our glass half full.
The joy, learning, friendship and FUN in our classrooms has not once been affected due to Covid – the children wear masks now like they do their socks – it’s unbelievable how resilient they are. We forge on with hope of the vaccine’s effectiveness, continued mask wearing, and our continued efforts and diligence to play our part in soon returning to a more recognizable Brooklyn!
