November 2025 Market Snapshot: Holiday Slowdown, Still Hungry Buyers
November brought the usual seasonal slowdown, but Brooklyn buyers didn’t exactly disappear; they just had fewer homes to choose from. Inventory tightened in both District 13 and District 15, yet contract activity stayed surprisingly steady as motivated buyers continued to step up before year-end.
In District 13, active listings dropped to 51, down from 76 in October. Even with less to shop for, buyers kept moving: 40 contracts signed, only a slight dip from last month’s 43. Closings came in at 34, a step down from October’s 43, which makes sense given the lighter pipeline earlier this fall.
Over in District 15, inventory pulled back to 69 active listings from 102 the month prior. Contract activity held firm at 46, compared to 57 in October, showing that buyers are still engaging despite tighter supply. Closings landed at 49, a modest decline from last month’s 57 but still signaling healthy momentum as we wrap up 2025.
The Brooklyn market continues to shrug off the noise, interest rate speculation, election chatter, and all the headlines that suggest a slowdown. The reality on the ground is different: buyers remain active, and well-priced homes continue to move. Mortgage rates are hovering just under 6%, and while volatility in the treasury market keeps everyone guessing, demand hasn’t shown signs of plummeting.
