A community engagement meeting to discuss the overcrowding situation at PS 8 has been set for Wednesday 5/13 at 6 pm in the auditorium of P.S. 287, 50 Navy Street. State Sen. Daniel Squadron, Council member Stephen Levin, DOE Director of Space Management Thomas Taratko, District 13 Superintendent Barbara Freeman and District 13 CEC President David Goldsmith are scheduled to attend.
Especially families waitlisted for PS 8’s kindergarten, can ask questions and learn more about the decisions that resulted in a wait list for PS 8’s 2015-16 kindergarten class. Officials from the DOE will be present to answer questions, explain the wait list process for 2015-16, and discuss plans going forward for the 2016-17 school year.
