Join us at Atlantic Terminal Mall in Downtown Brooklyn for a day filled with fun for parents-to-be and little ones from 0 to 5 years old. At BABYTOPIA, you’ll discover businesses and services tailored to support you on your parenting journey including daycares, medical doctors, activities for young children and more. Free activities will include musical and theater performances, play area, parent and me demo classes, face painting, art activities, plus sampling and giveaways for families. 2. Celebrate Eid Around the World at Brooklyn Children’s Museum

Celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan at Brooklyn Children’s Museum! Enjoy a day of music, dance, food, and art that honors cultural traditions from across the Muslim world, presented in partnership with Council Member Shahana Hanif. Get ready to move to the rhythms of traditional Bangladeshi dance with the Bangladesh Institute of Performing Arts, discover the story of Eid at an engaging puppet show presented by The Culture Tree, hear Turkish, Kurdish, and Islamic classical music performed by the Wahab Orchestra, and learn Sufi-inspired songs at an interactive drumming circle led by Brother Mustafa.

5. Brooklyn Conservatory of Music Celebrates Holi!

Join Mixed Masala and BKCM in celebrating Holi, the Festival of Colors, on Sunday, March 16 at Prospect Park! The celebration begins at 3pm with picnicking and at Long Meadow (near Grand Army Plaza). Bring a blanket and snacks and enjoy the free concert. At 4pm attendees will be invited to join in the traditional celebration of throwing colored powder. We recommend that you wear white clothing and expect to get messy!

8. Play on Brooklyn’s Open Streets on Car-Free Earth Day

Car-Free Earth Day is an annual car-free event hosted by NYC’s Department of Transportation, with many participating locations in our neighborhoods, including Albee Square in Downtown Brooklyn, Hoyt Street in Boerum Hill, and Berry Street in Williamsburg.

9. Soak up cherry blossom season at Brooklyn Botanic Garden and beyond
Brooklyn Botanic Garden has some of Brooklyn’s best cherry blossom trees, and they’re just starting to bloom! Here’s all the ways to celebrate spring at BBG:
- Use the Garden’s CherryWatch tracker to see when trees are in full bloom, and take advantage of the Garden’s extended hours this season. Starting April 1, BBG opens early Friday–Sunday: 8am-6pm and opens early and late Tuesday–Thursday: 8am-8pm. Admission is $22/adult, $16/students 12+ with ID, and free for children under 12. A portion of each day’s tickets are available free of charge to those who need them.
- Get tickets for Hanami Nights, April 22–25. The cherry blossoms on Cherry Esplanade will be lit up for maximum effect. Try your hand at origami, and view a curated display of bonsai in the Lillian and Amy Goldman Atrium. Tickets sell out fast!
- Weekends in Bloom, starting April 26, will feature pop-up music and dance performances, morning programming for kids and families in the Discovery Garden, and Garden tours.
- During the week, bring your little ones to Spring First Discoveries, a program for the garden’s youngest patrons on Wednesday & Friday mornings.
- Want more cherry blossoms in Brooklyn? You can find more blooms in Brooklyn Bridge Park, Cadman Plaza Park, Prospect Park, Sunset Park, Maria Hernandez Park in Bushwick, and Green-Wood Cemetery.
10. Cheer on the Brooklyn Half Marathon runners
