This week New York State announced that nearly all restrictions on businesses and social gatherings are now lifted, since more than 70 percent of adults in the state have received at least one coronavirus vaccine dose. New York will end, in most cases, state-mandated capacity limits and no longer require social distancing. Disinfection protocols and health screenings will also be removed. The state will also continue to abide by federal mask guidance: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has advised that unvaccinated people should wear masks indoors and maintain social distancing.
