The new ferry dock and a new coffee shop at Pier 1 are open, construction for DUMBO’s new park starting soon and daily free events in DUMBO all summer long!

New ferry dock at Pier 1

The new ferry dock at Pier 1 in Brooklyn Bridge Park is open. Riders now queue and board on the wooden pier, Fulton Ferry Landing. The newly reoriented ferry landing allows two ferries to dock at once, and is fully ADA-accessible at all times.

New coffee shop Arabica

An outpost of the japanese coffee shop %Arabica has opened up in the new single-story commercial building at 20 Old Fulton Street. Later on this year Tsuta, a Tokyo-founded Ramen noodle shop will open next door.

Brewery and Coffee Shop open in DUMBO

Evil Twin Brewery has opened a taproom at 43 Main Street featuring 20 beers on tap, frozen cocktails, NY State ciders and more. They are open either until 11 pm or 12 am. The Their coffee shop serves coffee weekdays from 7 am to 2 pm and on weekends 8 am to 3 pm.

Daily Dose of DUMBO – free events every day all summer long

  • Mondays game night: Enjoy corn hole, giant Jenga, giant Connect Four and more from 5 to 8 pm.

  • Thursdays Kids and DJ Dance Party: The Brooklyn Public Library will offer activities specifically for kids on Thursdays from 5 to 6pm. Following the kids activities, a DJ will spin in the Archway until 8pm! Come for the kiddos, stay for a picnic dinner + dance party.
  • Fridays Live at the Archway: Live music every Friday from 5 to 8 pm.

Construction update Bridge Park 2 – water sprinklers will be included

Site preparation has started for DUMBO’s new park Susan Smith McKinney Steward Park before any real building gets underway in the next months. The project is scheduled to be complete by April 2022.  The project will reconstruct the existing playground with 2-5 and 5-12 play equipment, swings, spray shower and construct a new adult fitness area and a multi-purpose synthetic turf field with a performance stage. The work will also include an art area, benches, fences, drainage and water supply and planting.
