3K for All coming to our neighborhoods

3K for All is being rolled out in District 13 (Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, Downtown Brooklyn, Fort Greene, Vinegar Hill, Prospect Heights etc) and District 15 (BoCoCa, Red Hook, Park Slope, Sunset Park etc) this fall. You can apply to 3K, the new free program by the Department of Education, if you have a child born in 2018. Your child has priority to attend 3-K for All programs in the district where you live.

Use MySchools to search for and learn about 3K programs, new programs are currently being added weekly until the end of May. 3K admissions is not first come, first served, and you can make changes to your application any time before the deadline on May 28, 2021. Priority for the programs is similar to Pre-K (4s programs priorities) with children currently enrolled in a center or a sibling at the center/school having priority. Find out more here.

Families can choose from four types of settings for 3K programs:

  • NYC Early Education Centers
  • District Schools
  • Pre-K Centers
  • Family Child Care (Home-Based Programs)

The following preschools and daycares are rolling out 3K this fall (not a complete list):

  • Imagine Daycare DUMBO
  • Imagine Daycare Brooklyn Heights
  • Strong Place for Hope Daycare Centers
  • Warren Street Center

Imagine Daycare Centers which also offer Free UPK will give priority for the 3K for All program to existing students in the daycare (just like they have been for UPK). 3K hours will be 9.30 am to 3.50 pm and parents can pay for additional hours before and after.
