4th of July Fireworks 2026 – public viewing, ticket lottery and logistics

To celebrate America’s 250th, and the 50th anniversary of the Macy’s Fireworks, there will be fireworks starting at approximately 9.25 pm at the Brooklyn Bridge, East River and Hudson River this year. Spectators must have a ticket to view the fireworks from Brooklyn including Brooklyn Bridge Park and the Promenade. Free tickets for the viewing zones in Brooklyn Bridge Park were available via lottery until Monday, June 29 at 11:59 PM.

  • All viewing areas in Brooklyn Bridge Park are ticketed via a lottery and people with tickets will be able to enter the park at 4 PM.
  • There will be 3 different viewing zones in Brooklyn Bridge Park and 1 at the Seaport
  • Non-ticketed viewing (along the FDR) in Manhattan opens at 6:00pm.
  • If you get tickets in the lottery, you will be able to choose viewing zones
  • Brooklyn Bridge Park will be closed on July 4 prior to the event.
  • The Adidas Home of Soccer in Brooklyn Bridge Park will be closed July 3 – 5.
  • Limited community tickets have been distributed for viewing from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade.
  • No parking is permitted in the frozen zone. Towing will begin during the evening of July 3 into the morning of July 4.
  • Frozen zone affects mainly Brooklyn Heights this year

NYC Ferry July 3rd Modified Holiday Schedule
 
The Sail4th 250 Parade of Class B Ships begins at 1 PM and will require NYC Ferry to suspend service on certain routes and landings for several hours during the afternoon of July 3rd.
  • Service on the East River A and East River B routes will be suspended from approximately 1 PM to 4 PM. The East River route will make all stops before 1 PM and after 4 PM.
  • Service on the Astoria route will be suspended from approximately 1 PM to 4 PM. The Astoria route will make all stops prior to 1 PM and after 4 PM.
  • The Rockaway-Soundview route will only stop at Wall St/Pier 11, Sunset Park/BAT, and Rockaway from 1 PM to 4 PM. The Rockaway-Soundview route will make all stops before 1 PM and after 4 PM. Rockaway Reserve tickets will still be available for purchase from Wall St/Pier 11 and Rockaway in the NYC Ferry app.
  • The South Brooklyn route will not stop at East 34th Street from 1 PM to 4 PM. The South Brooklyn route will stop at all other landings, including the South Brookyln Extension to Sunset Park/BAT and Bay Ridge.
  • No changes to the St. George route. A weekend schedule will operate all day and make all stops.
  • No changes to the Governors Island Shuttle. A weekend schedule will operate all day and make all stops.
 
NYC Ferry July 4th Modified Holiday Schedule
 
The Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Show begins at 8 PM and will require suspended service and route modifications throughout the day.
  • On July 4th, all NYC Ferry service will be suspended by 3 PM in advance of the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Show.
  • The St. George route will be suspended all day to accommodate the Tall Ships Parade in the Hudson River.
  • The Governors Island Shuttle will be suspended all day to accommodate holiday events on the island.
Before the service suspension at 3 PM, many routes will run on a modified schedule and not make all regularly scheduled stops to accommodate various landing and harbor closures. See below to find out more and make sure to review schedules via the links below or in the NYC Ferry app.
  • The East River route will not stop at DUMBO on all trips prior to service suspension.
  • The Astoria route will make all stops on all trips prior to service suspension.
  • The Rockaway-Soundview route will only operate between Ferry Point Park to Wall St/Pier 11 on all trips prior to service suspension. Rockaway Reserve tickets will not be available on July 4th.
  • The South Brooklyn route will only stop at Red Hook, Wall St/Pier 11, Corlears Hook, and East 34th Street on all trips prior to service suspension.
