Meet DUMBO’s Indian street food chef Varsha

Varsha was born in India and moved to the US in 2019. She is a costume designer by profession, has worked on many bollywood films and is now slowly moving toward the food world. She comes from a family of great cooks and has always shadowed her mother in the kitchen picking up her talent and love for food. Her home-cooked dishes including Bombay Bhel Puri, Vada Pav and Ghoogni Tikki are mouthwatering and not the ones you would find in a typical Indian restaurant in Brooklyn. How did you get into offering home cooked food to Brooklynites: I love cooking and cooking for other people makes me even happier. So when i found about the app WoodSpoon, I applied to be a chef on it and now I can feed people my food made with lots of love.

What do you love about living in DUMBO: I love everything about Dumbo- its historical buildings, community, amazing people, food options, views, so many things to do, the beautiful parks. Dumbo is a unique neighbourhood in Brooklyn unlike any other neighbourhood which I absolutely love.
