The first day of school for public schools in NYC will be Thursday, September 7, 2023 and last day of school will be Wednesday, June 26, 2024. The Department of Education just added four more days off for students in all grades:
- Monday, April 1, for the day after Easter
- Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30, for the last two days of Passover
- Monday, June 17, for Eid al-Adha

Plus, for the first time this early the administration has already published the school calendars for the 24/25 and 25/26 school years. This occurred after major complaints for publishing the 23/24 school calendar so late in this year.
