Spring is finally here, bringing a week packed with free, family-friendly events. The festivities begin with St. Patrick’s Day, featuring a celebration at Time Out Market in DUMBO on Monday and the Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade later in the week. Other highlights include a special Women’s History Month musical performance at Brooklyn Children’s Museum, Martial Arts Day at Japan Village in Industry City, a kids concert by Hopalong Andrew at Time Out Market, and ballet performances designed for young audiences at Central Library. Every St. Patrick’s Day, we celebrate with the most cherished of Irish traditions: sharing our stories. This year, as we look ahead to our production of The United States vs Ulysses, a play about the court case surrounding the publication of James Joyce’s Ulysses in this country, we’ll shine a light on other authors whose works have been banned throughout history, including Edna O’Brien, Claudia Rankine, Sally Rooney, Carmen Maria Machado, Samuel Beckett, and Kaylani Juanita, alongside titles by some of our favorite Irish, Irish American, and NYC writers. Come get YOUR free book at any Book Day pop-up station across the city. The IAC family of volunteers, staff, sponsors and supporters, along with our partners at the New York City Council, will be out from 8am until the books run out!

Coastal Cleanup Volunteers help keep our shorelines clean by removing debris that washes into the park’s marshes and beaches with the tides. Join Sprout Brooklyn for a Family Fun day AT Camp! On Sunday, March 23rd, Spend an exciting afternoon of music, dance, art, service projects, sports, STEM and more! Plus a chance to see our summer home and connect with camp friends new & old. Sprout Brooklyn is a place where children from a wide spectrum of backgrounds join together to create a joyful, diverse community built on Jewish values, a connection to Israel and the Hebrew language. This event will take place at Basis Independent School (Brooklyn Upper School) at 556 Columbia Street in Red Hook, Brooklyn. All are welcome!
