Our guide to tennis programs in Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan offers opportunities for kids of all ages to step onto the court and elevate their game. Whether your child is just picking up a racket or already competing at a high level, we’ve got the perfect match. From playful toddler classes to elite training sessions, we’ve rounded up the best programs in Brooklyn Heights, Downtown Brooklyn, Prospect Heights, Park Slope, Prospect Park, Williamsburg, Bed-Stuy, Bay Ridge, Coney Island, Bensonhurst, and lower Manhattan. Fall registration is already underway and some sessions are filling — Kings County Tennis League opens August 14, Chelsea Piers starts September 10, and Pop Up Tennis is waitlist-only at both of its sites. Note too that fall is when outdoor programs start moving indoors: Prospect Park runs outdoors through October 3 before the bubble goes up, and NYJTL’s fall season is entirely outdoors.

Chelsea Piers Field House Brooklyn | Prospect Heights

Program Details: Chelsea Piers teaches tennis fundamentals to ages 3-9. Classes include Mini Aces for ages 3–4, Little Aces for ages 4–5, and CP Aces for elementary school kids. Classes are 45 minutes for Mini Aces (3–4) and Little Aces (4–5), and one hour for Aces (5–6). Fall 2026: Fall classes begin Thursday, September 10, with start times by level — Little Aces September 10, CP Aces (5–7) September 11, Mini Aces September 12 and CP Aces (7–9) September 15. Several sections already show “Few left.” Register here!

Court 16 Kids Tennis Academy | Downtown Brooklyn

Program Details: Court 16 offers as Kids Tennis Academy with group classes, private lessons, and semi-private lessons. The program uses a curriculum focused on building technical skills and understanding of the game. Membership is required to enroll in classes; only during the summer can non-members take classes. Fall 2026: Classes run in Fall and Spring seasons of roughly 20 weeks each. Become a member here!

Levels: Beginner to advanced

Ages: 3-15

Costs: Membership is required to enroll in the Kids Tennis Academy (with the except of the Summer Season, when kids who are not members can take classes). Kids Memberships are $650/annually (Court 16 no longer publishes its class rates — confirm current pricing with the club). Group Classes range from $40-$100, Private Sessions range from $98-$142, and Semi-Private Sessions range from $82-$125.

Downtown Tennis Club | Bay Ridge

Program Details: Downtown Tennis Club offers kids’ group lessons in Bay Ridge at John J. Carty Park, year-round. Classes are for ages 2–15, with students placed in groups by age and ability. The club also runs full-day and half-day summer camps. Fall 2026: The program runs year-round and entirely outdoors, so lessons are rescheduled in bad weather, sign up here!

Levels: Beginner to advanced

Ages: 2-15

Costs: Kids group lessons are $43/class, $250/6 lessons, or $400/10 lessons. Summer Camp is $175/day (full day) and $90/day (half day).

Kings County Tennis League | Various Locations

Program Details: KCTL provides free tennis programs to children in and around Brooklyn public housing. They offer year-round programming for ages 5–15. They also have specialty programs for more advanced players, an all-girls group, and semi-private lessons. Fall 2026: Registration opens August 14. Fall sessions run September 14 to October 28 — Mondays and Wednesdays at the Jackie Robinson and Marcy clubs (ages 5–10 from 4–5pm, ages 11–15 from 5–6pm), Tuesdays and Thursdays at Lafayette Gardens. Those in NYCHA housing have priority.

Matchpoint NYC | Coney Island & Bensonhurst

Program Details: MatchPoint NYC’s Brooklyn locations have fitness centers and indoor tennis courts. They offer a Pre-QuickStart program for ages 3 and up, Junior Development for older kids, private lessons, tournament training, and full-day summer camps. Fall 2026: Tennis programs run year-round; every club has indoor courts and Bensonhurst adds outdoor courts; inquire here to learn more for Coney Island location, and here for Bensonhurst location.

Ages: 3-16

Costs: Varies based on age, group and duration; usually starts from $30/class to $135/class.

McCarren Tennis Center | Williamsburg

Program Details: The McCarren Tennis Center offers junior classes for ages 3–17, from recreational and high-performance levels. Classes include Tiny Tots/Pee Wee, recreational and competitive pathway classes for Juniors, and a Junior High Performance and Elite (invite only) program. Facilities include 7 indoor hard courts, and summer programming takes place outdoors. School pickup available from PS110, Brooklyn Arbor, PS84, PS110, and PS31. Fall 2026: Registration is open for two sessions — a four-week September session (September 14 to October 11) and the 13-week indoor fall session (October 19 to January 17). Sign-up runs through a CourtReserve account and there are no walk-ins. Register for September here or for the fall session here!

Costs:  McCarren now prices per class: $62 for Red Ball and Tiny Tots, $72 for Junior Recreational (Orange, Green and Yellow ball).

New York Junior Tennis & Learning | Various Locations

Program Details: New York Junior Tennis & Learning (NYJTL) offersa Community Tennis Program for ages 5–18 with free instruction in schools and public parks across New York City, year-round. Open to all skill levels, with optional attendance. Sessions typically last 1–1.5 hours, and most sites run for 3 hours or more per session. Guardians are expected to stay during lessons. Fall 2026: Registration is ongoing throughout the year! All fall tennis is outdoors and the fall session pages are not posted yet — the live listings are still summer. Check back here for details for the spring season.

Levels: Beginner to advanced

Ages: 5-18

Costs: Free; all equipment provided free of charge to use onsite.

Locations: McDonald Park (McDonald Avenue between Avenues S and T), Linden Park (Vermont Street and Stanley Avenue) and IS 240K (2500 Nostrand Avenue). All fall tennis is outdoors and sites change seasonally.

Pop Up Tennis Kids | Park Slope

Program Details: Located in Park Slope, Pop Up Tennis Kids offers indoor classes for ages 5–11. Students are grouped by age and skill level, with small classes of five or fewer. Lessons focus on ball control, racket skills, footwork, and technique. Older students use skills in drills and games, with larger courts available for advanced players. Fall 2026: Fall sessions are already full at both verified sites. Winter sessions are full, but you can be added to the wait list by emailing popuptenniskids@gmail.com. Camp Friendship runs Sundays, September 13 to December 13 ($638) and PS 321 Lower School runs Saturdays, September 12 to December 19 ($696). Check back here for more information.

Prospect Park Tennis Center | Prospect Park

Program Details: The Prospect Park Tennis Center offer junior programs for ages 5–17. Classes include Pee Wee (ages 5–6) and Junior Program (ages 6–17), with students grouped by age and skill. Lessons use small-group instruction (up to six per court section) and focus on technique, hand-eye coordination, and skill development. Fall 2026: Outdoor Junior Development runs September 8 to October 3, with no class September 21 and a maximum of six per class. Registration is open online; you have to create a profile first. The seasonal bubble goes up later in the season and indoor dates are not yet posted.

Levels: Beginner to advanced

Ages: 5-17

Costs: Munchkin programs include 7 45-minute sessions per cycle and rates are $175 per cycle. Pee Wee Program (Ages 5+6) rates vary from $520-650. Junior Program ranges from $768-$1,920/season.

Super Duper Tennis | Battery Park

Program Details: Super Duper Tennis teaches tennis to children using age-appropriate equipment such as lower nets, less pressured balls, and shorter racquets. Classes follow teaching techniques supported by the USTA (United States Tennis Association). Sessions are offered for ages 3, 4–5, 5–6, 7–9, and 9–10. Fall 2026: Classes in Battery Park begin September 12 (Saturdays) and September 13 (Sundays). Fall pricing is $400 for age 4 and $440 for ages 5–6 and 7–9. Ages: 3-9

Costs: $550/season at Battery Park. At Asphalt Green Battery Park City, $638-$488/6-week program for age 3, $1,035-$1,110/12-week program for ages 5-8.

Super Stars Tennis | Brooklyn Heights, Williamsburg & Lower Manhattan

Program Details: Super Stars Tennis offers tennis classes for children of all ages. The student-to-teacher ratio is 5:1. Instructors teach tennis fundamentals and focus on skills such as teamwork, agility, and balanced exercise. Classes are held throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn, with winter sessions indoors and spring, summer, and fall sessions outdoors at parks and playgrounds. Equipment is provided. Fall 2026: Fall classes at Squibb Park begin September 8 and run eight consecutive weeks, $392 for 45-minute classes at a 1:5 ratio. Pilates Heights and Assumption Church are winter indoor sites and do not run in fall. Check back here for outdoor spring classes. Click here to set up your own Private POD (minimum 4 children).

Levels: Beginner to intermediate

Ages: 2.5-9

Costs: $392/season. Private PODS, Semi-Private Lessons, and Private Lessons also available.
