Badshah Social brings the vibrant flavors, energy, and culture of India’s regional street food to a modern social dining destination. Signature offerings include the Paneer & Fig Tikki, creamy paneer and sweet figs, served alongside roasted tomato chutney, a modern take on a Gujarati Street snack; Coconut Fried Chicken, Southern Indian crispy fried chicken served with house-made chili mayonnaise; Mangalorean Branzino, whole branzino infused with fragrant curry leaf oil inspired by India’s southwestern coast; and Lamb Shank Nihari, a slow-braised tender lamb shank infused with cardamom and clove masala. 212 Flatbush Ave. Hours: Weekdays: 5 to 10 PM daily and weekends: 5 to 11 PM daily.

Bringing the rich, comforting flavors of the Republic of Georgia to 86 5th Avenue, this cozy new neighborhood spot serves up authentic, scratch-made Caucasian classics. They are dishing out traditional favorites like walnut-stuffed eggplant rolls, savory cheese-and-spinach pies, and steaming-hot khinkali soup dumplings alongside their must-try khachapuri. This artisanal bakery has opened up its doors at 434 Hancock Street just in time for mid-summer treats. Thursday – Sunday 8:30am until sold out.

The popular vendor, which already operates a permanent stall inside Dumbo’s Time Out Market, is expanding to a new brick-and-mortar space. This location will be open serving its signature Central Texas-style smoked meats with Dominican flair, from brisket to specialty sides, at 25 Thames St (between Morgan Ave and Bogart St).

Sailor & Siren officially transitioned from a beloved summer pop-up into a permanent brick-and-mortar spot in Greenpoint. The concept leans into an over-the-top, coastal New England energy, sourcing lobster straight from a family wharf in Maine. Open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 12 pm until 8 pm (or until sold out).

A beautiful new cafe has opened up at 7221 3rd Ave offering specialty coffee, morning pastries, and a full brunch menu.

Red Hook Barrel Yard | Red Hook | Now open
The Barrel Yard is a 40,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor waterfront production facility and hospitality venue. It operates as a three-in-one destination, housing the Red Hook Winery, the Red Hook Cidery, and an upcoming small-batch distillery. Expect coastal classics like Lundy’s Clam Bisque, jumbo lump crab cakes, and a full raw bar with seafood towers. Opening hours are 12noon to 10pm seven days a week.

Sichuan and dim sum restaurant Breeze recently signed a 15-year lease for 3,600 square feet of space at The Ashland (590 Fulton Street), joining neighbors Peaches Prime and Fulton Hall. The new location will be Breeze’s second Brooklyn location.

The Chefs Agency | Williamsburg | Fall 2026
The Chefs Agency is an upcoming café, bakery, and prepared foods shop located at 29 West Street, taking over a ground-floor retail space in Greenpoint. Opening this fall, the venue will serve as a permanent brick-and-mortar hub for the local production catering company, offering specialty coffee, breakfast, and casual lunch options. Alongside daily café items, it will feature baked goods and a curated selection of chef-prepared meals to enjoy there or take home.
Lidl | Williamsburg | Opening date TBA
Another 27,0000-square-foot location of Lidl is slated to open soon on the ground floor of 597 Grand Street in Williamsburg. The new store will occupy a mixed-use retail and residential building between Leonard and Lorimer Streets, which was the former site of a Key Foods. Similar to Trader Joe’s and Aldi, Lidl offers a broad assortment of products, including its 49-cent butter croissants, private-label Butcher’s Specialty meats, and Bon Gelati mini ice cream bars. Shoppers can also find gourmet favorites like frozen tiramisu, aged Parmigiano Reggiano, and authentic prosciutto.
