A family day at Industry City

Industry City on the waterfront in Sunset Park is a former warehouse complex of 6 buildings connected by a pedestrian path that now hosts offices, retailers, Brooklyn makers, production sites and food halls. Car-free outdoor spaces between the buildings make it especially kid-friendly featuring street art, a playground, an ice skating rink and more.

Family-friendly highlights:

  • Sahadi’s Mediterranean grocery store and restaurant where you can do all your food shopping and sit down for a freshly baked pita bread with grilled Halumi cheese and greens

  • Li’-Lac’s Chocolate factory where they make and sell their gourmet chocolate. Try the milk chocolate almond bars!

  • Nazz Forge school for bladesmiths and blacksmiths. Stop by their school and watch them making knifes, swords and more.
  • Dine at the Japan Village with its Japanese food hall and supermarket
  • Frying Pan Brooklyn Game Room for ages 5 and up with vintage arcade games and ping pong. Entry $8 per person.

  • Brooklyn Kitchen offers cooking classes for grown-ups (Mexican street food, Middle Eastern cuisine, Bread basics, Sauces 101, German classics) and for kids ages 6 to 12
