Cafe Gitane | Vinegar Hill | Cafe Gitane in Vinegar Hill is a cozy French-Moroccan café known for its rustic charm and inviting outdoor seating. Celestine | DUMBO | Celestine has spectacular views of the Brooklyn waterfront. Perched beneath the Manhattan Bridge, they serve wood-fired Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. Try the homemade za’atar flatbread, mezze platter, and fish dishes including fourth and branzino. They also serve excellent wine and cocktails. The dining room is beautiful, and if you dine outdoors in the summer, you’re basically eating your meal in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Hildur | DUMBO | Hildur occupies the former space of Gran Eléctrica in DUMBO, and serves Scandinavian cuisine and French bistro fare. The menu features au poivre with Swedish meatballs, pommes puree, and shoestring fries, and the Swedish Princess cake. They also serve cocktails and natural wine. Nobody Told Me | DUMBO | This bar and restaurant in DUMBO offers a roomy corner patio at Bridge and Front Streets, perfect for enjoying food and drinks in the open air. The menu features inventive brunch dishes, shareable snacks, and dinner options, all paired with a creative selection of house cocktails. Whether you’re stopping by for laid-back after-work drinks or a weekend brunch, it’s a vibrant spot to relax outdoors.

Randolph Rooftop | DUMBO | The rooftop at Randolph is one of Brooklyn’s best-kept secrets, with jaw-dropping 360-degree views of Brooklyn, the waterfront, and the Manhattan skyline. Open seasonally (mid-May through mid-September), you can order from Randolph’s menu of delicious gastropub fare, beers, and cocktails. Hours are Thursday 4pm-11pm, Friday 4pm-12pm, Saturdays 3pm-12pm, and Sundays 3pm-9pm. Note: While the downstairs brewpub has kid-friendly hours, the rooftop is 21+ at all times.

Vinegar Hill House | Vinegar Hill | Vinegar Hill House is tucked away on a peaceful cobblestone street in Vinegar Hill, with a gorgeous backyard that can’t be beat during the summer months. The food, wine, and cocktails, are excellent, with standouts including the chicken liver mousse, seasonal pasta dishes, cast iron chicken, and pork chop. For dessert, don’t miss the famous Guinness chocolate cake!

Westville Dumbo | DUMBO | Fresh produce & locally sourced meats lead the list of ingredients at this popular spot on Washington Street. Customers can eat in their shaded outdoor courtyard in the summer.

Brooklyn Bridge Park

Note: Pilot, the oyster bar and restaurant aboard a boat docked at Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, will be closed for the 2025 season as the vessel undergoes restoration. Pilot will return in May 2026!

Clark’s Diner | On Clark Street since 1986, Clark’s Diner serves Greek & American comfort food in a casual, neighborhood diner that buzzes at breakfast. Colonie | Colonie is on a tree-lined block of Atlantic Avenue, two blocks from the East River. They serve seasonal American food sourced from local farms. High chairs are available, and children are welcome! Outdoor seating on Atlantic Avenue in the warmer months. 

Custom House | This neighborhood pub has some outdoor seating on Montague Street, great for causal drinks or brunch, or even to catch a sports game. The Irish-American menu includes pub staples like fish and chips, burgers, and weekend brunch specials.

Dellarocco’s Brick Oven Pizza | Bring the family for wood fired pizza, cheese and charcuterie, and calzones. Located on Hicks Street, Dellarocco’s has plenty of seating on their outdoor patio.

Don Neo Fusion | The hidden backyard garden at Don Neo Fusion creates a peaceful, tucked-away setting for modern Asian fusion dining. You’ll find a mix of sushi rolls, Korean BBQ tacos, and inventive small plates.

Grand Canyon Restaurant | Grand Canyon Restaurant on Montague Street serves diner-style family-friendly menus, including Mexican breakfast, burgers and sandwiches, egg dishes, plus a kid’s menu. Seating outdoors in the summer!

Henry’s End | Henry’s End serves new American fare outdoors with sidewalk seating on Henry Street. Known for wild game and creative New American dishes, the menu changes seasonally.

They have a seating area on Montague Street where you can enjoy some of their inventive pairings on warm nights—like The Giant Grilled Cheese with a bottle of chilled red, mozzarella sticks and a glass of orange wine, or a pile of fries with a bottle of champagne. Noodle Pudding | A neighborhood establishment, Noodle Pudding serves Italian comfort food. The menu is constantly changing, but there are some standout favorites: the burrata, fritto misto, and lasagne bolognese. Their glass of house red is just $5, and they will pour your martini tableside, then leave the shaker with you so you don’t miss a drop. Sidewalk seating on Henry Street is back this summer!

River Deli | River Deli serves Sardinian fare on a quiet corner of Joralemon Street. Their menu features a recipes passed down from the owners’ grandmothers, as well as a selection of classic cocktails. Luana’s Tavern | Luana’s Tavern is a local family-owned tavern founded by a husband & wife team who met at the tavern 14 years ago when it was a bar called PJ Hanleys. Black Iris | Fort Greene | Black Iris is a Mediterranean restaurant on the border of Fort Greene & Clinton Hill that has been serving the neighborhood for over 30 years. Café Paulette | Fort Greene | Steps away from Fort Greene Park, Café Paulette is a charming French-inspired bistro with a curated selection of natural wines. LaRina Pastificio & Vino | Fort Greene | This modern Italian eatery and handmade pasta shop is led by Chef Silvia Barban, a former Top Chef contestant. Miss Ada | Fort Greene | Ms. Ada is a neighborhood gem, led by Israeli-born Chef/Owner Tomer Blechman. Putnam’s Pub | Clinton Hill | Putnam’s Pub & Cooker is a gastropub in Clinton Hill offering American comfort food and an extensive beverage program, including a 24 craft beers on tap. Their spacious sidewalk café has 70 seats, serving brunch, lunch, and dinner. It’s also a family-friendly spot, with plenty of parking for strollers!

Sailor | Fort Greene | This intimate neighborhood bistro on a charming Fort Greene corner is led by Chef April Bloomfield, and the menu is centered mostly around seafood. When the weather is nice, they will set up some of their tables outside. Highlights include the smoked arctic char pâté, mussel toast, smoked pork shoulder, roasted chicken, and profiteroles for dessert.

Alta Calidad | This restaurant on Vanderbilt Avenue serves Mexican cuisine welcomes kids and offers high chairs. There is outdoor seating, and they serve weekend brunch, lunch, and dinner.

Cent’anni | This Italian spot has a kid’s menu in addition to delicious entrees and pastas for adults. Their backyard garden patio has a retractable roof so diners can eat outside rain or shine.

Olmsted | Olmsted is a neighborhood restaurant by Chef Greg Baxtrom, an alum of Alinea and Per Se. The restaurant has a magical backyard where many of the kitchen’s ingredients are grown in a true vegetable garden!

Zaytoons | This family-owned Middle Eastern restaurant is celebrating their 25th anniversary. They have a lovely back garden in the warmer months. They also have special menu items for kids, such as Pitza Lal Atfal, with mozzarella & tomato sauce with a happy face of veggies.

Park Slope

Bogota Latin Bistro | This Park Slope restaurant serving Latin and Columbian cuisine offers an extensive kids menu from 11am-4pm daily including kids appetizer, entrees and side dishes. Kids also eat free Monday through Thursday 4pm-7pm with a purchase of an entree or house specialty! There is both indoor dining and an outdoor patio.

Bricolage | Bricolage serves Vietnamese family and street food in a space that is hand-built with recycled vintage materials. The restaurant has a beautiful and uniquely decorated back patio.

Convivium Osteria | This Park Slope taverna feels and looks like an Italian farmhouse. The menu includes burrata, cheese and salumi, tagliatelle with beef-and-veal ragù, and braised rabbit with olives, capers, prosciutto, and rosemary. Find a seat on the outdoor patio in the summer!

Masalawala & Sons | Masalawala & Sons is a casual Indian restaurant in Brooklyn with cuisine inspired by street food and home cooking from Bengal and other parts of India. Enjoy spicy chaats, curries, and fresh naan in the open air on their back yard patio.

Pasta Louise | Pasta Louise was founded by Allison Arevalo, who sold fresh pasta from her stoop during the pandemic before her restaurant was finally able to open its doors in July 2020. The restaurant on 12th Street serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner outdoors. They also have a nearby the café on 8th Street, where you can pick up pasta, sauce, coffee, and soft serve ice cream to go.

Sawa | This Lebanese restaurant in Park Slope features baked-to-order pita, dips, mezze, and main dishes such as whole fish, lamb shanks, and lamb chops, plus cocktails with Lebanese flavors. In addition to their dining room, they have a beautiful backyard space that is open in the warmer months.

Claro BK | This Michelin-starred Oaxacan restaurant serves Mexican cuisine rooted in tradition, with homemade masa as the star of several dishes. Dinosaur Bar-B-Que | Located in the heart of Gowanus, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que warmly welcomes everyone (including dogs!) and has outdoor seating areas. The restaurant serves Southern-style meat and draft beers.

Threes Brewing | Threes Brewing in Gowanus offers a vibrant outdoor dining experience in its spacious, year-round patio known as The Yard. This 3,000-square-foot area is adorned with greenery, string lights, and a cozy atmosphere, featuring its own bar serving Threes Brewing’s signature beers, wines, and cocktails. The food has changed at Threes over time. Currently, the Boerum Hill oyster bar Grand Army has set up shop. They serving beer-battered cod, burgers, loaded crab fries, and event a Happy Meals for kids!

Red Hook & Columbia St. Waterfront District

Bar Mario | Red Hook | This cozy little nook serves Northern Italian and Tuscan fare, menu highlights include Mario’s Caesar, the “Spaghetti Hangover,” agnolotti, and more perfectly made pastas. Don’t miss the cheesecake for dessert! Come for outdoor seating in the summer.

Brooklyn Crab | Red Hook | Brooklyn Crab offers great seafood, drinks, & games. It’s the perfect place to bring the family, especially on a warm day when you can enjoy the roof deck, spacious patio with mini golf and games, and views New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty.

The Good Fork Pub | Red Hook | The Good Fork is a neighborhood restaurant that feels like home. The husband-and-wife owners live just down the block. Chef and co-owner Sohui Kim cooks new American cuisine with an Asian flair, and her husband Benjamin Schneider designed and built the restaurant’s interior. Enjoy their innovative Korean-inspired pub menu and drinks in the dining room behind the main bar, or in the cozy back garden.

Popina | Columbia St. Waterfront District | This cozy spot serves Italian food in their cozy backyard: homemade pasta, delicious arancini, chicken Milanese, and more. They have an extensive wine list and even have a members-only wine club. Stop by during happy hour, with kid’s pasta for $10 and adult’s for $15 from 5-6pm on weekdays.

Red Hook Tavern | Red Hook | Red Hook Tavern serves perfectly made burgers, made with patties made by neighboring Hometown Bar-B-Que, with a pickle wedge and fries on the side. Try the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, and for dessert, don’t miss out on their rainbow cookies. It’s a lively spot to enjoy outdoor dining in Red Hook!

Red Hook Lobster Pound | Red Hook | Red Hook Lobster Pound is best know for its lobster rolls—served Maine-style (cold with mayo) or Connecticut-style (hot with butter). The menu also features lobster mac and cheese, fried oysters, and more. They have outdoor seating in the summer!

Strong Rope Brewery | Red Hook | Strong Rope has one of New York’s best views of the Harbor and the Statue of Liberty. It’s family-friendly, with food trucks from local spots like Red Hook Lobster Pound, with live music some weekends!

Grab your food to go, and enjoy it in one of the outdoor courtyards, complete with fire pits, sandpits for the kids, public art, and live music.   • Sahadi’s | Visit this Mediterranean grocery store and restaurant where you can do all your food shopping, then sit down for a freshly baked pita bread with grilled Halumi cheese and greens. Sahadi’s also hosts live music in their tented outdoor space, including salsa every Friday night!
  • Japan Village | This vibrant marketplace has become a go-to destination for all things Japanese outside of Japan. It features a Japanese grocery store, a lively food hall with ramen, sushi, and bento, an izakaya bar, and a shop specializing in Japanese spirits.
  • Burger Joint | Burger Joint is a no-frills burger spot with flame-broiled burgers (plus a Beyond burger), served with French fries, onion rings, and milkshakes.
  • Kotti Berliner Döner Kebab | Kotti Berliner Döner Kebab brings an authentic taste of Germany to Industry City, serving the popular Berlin-style street food of thinly sliced meat served with garden toppings, crumbled feta, in a toasted Turkish pita. 
  • Frying Pan Brooklyn | Frying Pan serves excellent seafood like lobster rolls and fish tacos, alongside classic American favorites. It’s a family-friendly spot where both kids and adults will find something to enjoy—plus a great selection of drinks for the grown-ups.
  • Pétanque at Carreau Club | At Carreau Club, you can spend the afternoon playing pétanque, a French form of “lawn bowling,” with courts both indoors and outdoors. Note: Carreau Club does not allow children under 10 years old on the courts. All kids 10+ must have 1:1 adult supervision, and Carreau Club is 21+ after 5pm.

Williamsburg

Bar Blondeau | Perched on the 6th floor of the Wythe Hotel, Bar Blondeau offers sweeping skyline views from its wraparound terrace. The seafood-forward menu by Chef Aidan O’Neal features seasonal French-inspired dishes, paired with natural wines and standout cocktails.

Laser Wolf | Located on the roof of The Hoxton Hotel, Williamsburg, Laser Wolf serves Israeli cuisine cooked over live coals, cocktails, and amazing views of the Manhattan skyline.

Little Fino | Little Fino offers a day-to-night menu in the William Vale hotel, and they have a beautiful courtyard space. For breakfast, they serve juices, and pastries, and sandwiches and burgers later in the day. They have inventive cocktails for grown-ups including a Root Beer Negroni and a Campari Creamsicle.

Maison Premiere | Maison Premiere is a renowned oyster bar and cocktail lounge inspired by New Orleans absinthe cafés. It has a horseshoe-shaped bar, window seating, and a beautiful garden. The oysters and cocktails have even earned it a James Beard Award. They also have seafood towers, caviar service, small plates, wine and beer.

Mother’s | This neighborhood restaurant is a family-friendly spot with burgers for kids, craft beers for grown-ups, and outdoor seating for everyone to enjoy!

Psaraki | Psaraki is a Greek seafood restaurant in Williamsburg near Domino Park, with beautiful views overlooking the East River and Manhattan. Their menu includes raw bar items, traditional Greek appetizers to share, whole fish, lobster pasta, and more.

Sage | This Thai restaurant on Graham Avenue has a kid’s menu, plus a spacious backyard and tuk tuks for kids to play on. On Fridays, they have a rotating specials menu, and they also serve weekend brunch.

St. Mazie | St. Mazie has a Roaring ’20s feel, with live jazz most nights! You can dine in at their “Supper Club,” located in their cellar, or enjoy drinks and bites at high tops or at the bar on the main floor. There is also a beautiful backyard garden open in the warmer months. They serve great cocktails, oysters, and a full dinner menu.

Sunday in Brooklyn | This neighborhood restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is a popular destination for weekend family brunch, serving standout dishes like malted pancakes and smoked salmon toast. With both indoor seating and a charming outdoor patio, it’s a great spot to enjoy a relaxed meal.

Tacocina | Located in Domino Park, this taqueria is a picturesque outdoor space overlooking the East River and adjacent to the Domino Park playground. Come for tacos, quesadillas, margaritas, and more. It’s great spot for kids to eat and play.

Greenpoint

Bernie’s | A nostalgic throwback to classic American diners, Bernie’s serves steaks, burgers, and wedge salads in a casual, retro setting. Its sidewalk seating is a hip place to eat outdoors in Greenpoint.

Cafe Alula | Located at 252 Franklin Street, Cafe Alula specializes in Lebanese cuisine, offering a variety of vegan and vegetarian options. Patrons can enjoy their meals in a cozy, plant-filled backyard patio.

Elder Greene | Elder Greene serves elevated American comfort food with Southern influences, including fried chicken and biscuits. The cozy sidewalk seating offers a relaxed spot for brunch or dinner in the heart of Greenpoint.

Glasserie | Housed in a former glass factory, Glasserie offers inventive Mediterranean-inspired dishes with a focus on shared plates. Its lush courtyard provides a beautiful, tucked-away outdoor dining experience.

Milk & Roses | This romantic Italian-American eatery features a garden-like back patio perfect for al fresco dining. Known for its pasta and wine list, it’s a charming spot for dinner or brunch.

Naked Dog | Located on the Greenpoint waterfront, Naked Dog offers authentic Italian cuisine inspired by the Puglia region. The menu features seasonal dishes and house-made pastas, with patio seating!

Oxomoco | This Michelin-starred Mexican restaurant on Greenpoint Avenue specializes in wood-fired cooking. Come in the summer for outdoor seating on their patio! Try the pollo a las brasas, a half-chicken that comes with housemade tortillas and crispy red rice. More highlights include the lamb barbacoa, the beet chorizo, and the masa tempura shrimp. Plus, don’t miss out on the margaritas, palomas, and more cocktails.

Radio Star | Radio Star is an all-day restaurant from the team behind nearby Glasserie. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner on their garden patio (dogs welcome!). Plus, cocktails and wine by the glass. Radio Star is a restaurant, bar and cafe inspired by the radio era of the 1940s. They are located on Transmitter Park, the home of WNYC from 1937 to 1990.

Sereneco | Sereneco offers New American cuisine with a healthy, seasonal focus, including grain bowls, fish dishes, and fresh vegetables. Its stylish outdoor terrace is great for brunch or dinner.
